Cristiano Ronaldo had some advice to give for Real Madrid’s star Kylian Mbappe on his evolution as a striker.
No one can argue that Cristiano Ronaldo is a Real Madrid legend. This is why Kylian Mbappe wouldn’t mind the recent advice Ronaldo gave him regarding his playing style.
What Did Ronaldo Say About Mbappe?
In an interview with El Chiringuito, Ronaldo shared some key advice directed at Mbappe. The advice comes from a generational talent which makes it even more valuable. Ronaldo commented on how the Frenchman has been playing as a central number 9, and how this was difficult for him at the beginning.
“The striker position makes it a bit difficult for Mbappe, because he doesn’t know how to play as a striker in my opinion… It’s not that he doesn’t know, it’s not his position. If I were at Real Madrid I would teach him to play as a 9. Because I wasn’t a striker. I got used to playing as a striker. I played on the wing and people forget. Kylian shouldn’t be your typical striker. If I were him, I would play more or less like Cristiano Ronaldo plays as a striker.”
Ronaldo’s Advice Is Welcomed
The French international will probably not find any issue with the advice coming from Ronaldo. No one can forget the popular photo of him surrounded by Ronaldo posters on the wall. It’s a well-known fact that Real Madrid’s new hero grew up loving Ronaldo, and this love is mutual as Ronaldo said:
“I love him very much, and not only because of the story he had as a young man that he loved Cristiano Ronaldo very much and he was his idol.”
Ronaldo Believes The French Player Will Bring Real Madrid Joy
Not only did Ronaldo give the French international key advice, but he also had some words to say to Real Madrid fans. He said that Mbappe “is going to give Real Madrid a lot of joy.”
The Portuguese legend also had a request to ask of Real Madrid fans:
“I say this to the Real Madrid fans… Take care of the kid. I have no doubt Mbappe is going to give Real Madrid fans a lot of joy.”
Mbappe Has Ronaldo’s Admiration
During the interview, Ronaldo showed his admiration for him. He also admitted that he still watches Real Madrid “from time to time because my son Mateo likes Mbappe a lot.”
End Of My Mbappe Rant
Mbappe might have struggled at the beginning with the position switch, but he quickly found his footing. He has now scored 14 goals during 18 games in all competitions.
The Frenchman still has a lot to do if he wants to become a legend like Ronaldo at Real Madrid. He might be on the way to do that.
