The Tennessee Titans had an abysmal 3-14 season and didn’t even make the playoffs this year. The season was so bad that Tennessee decided to fire GM Ran Carthon after 2 seasons with the team. Remind me why Brian Callahan is still here as the head coach again?
With the Titans being one of the worst teams in the NFL, there are so many team needs for the franchise in the offseason. After all, you can make a shopping list of positions this team needs to improve. While brainstorming, from the list of needs this team has, I found that these five positions are the biggest.
Quarterback

This one is obvious because the Titans don’t have a franchise quarterback on the roster. Will Levis makes too many mistakes, and it’s clear the Titans have given up on him. Mason Rudolph also started for them last year, and he wasn’t good either. In fact, I legit forgot he was still in the NFL. Luckily, the Titans have the first overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, so they can easily use it on either Cam Ward or Shedeur Sanders if they choose.
Offensive Guard

The Titans offensive line was a disaster this year and the interior O-Line was a mess. Dillon Radunz while a mediocre player, was the best guard on the roster last year and he is a free agent who could depart the team in the offseason. Tennessee is going to need help protecting the quarterback next year and they badly need to improve their interior line. If Tony Pollard can have that good of a season with bad O-Line play, imagine him with a great one.
Linebacker

The defense has many problems, but to me, the biggest one is at linebacker. Tennessee’s linebacker play last year was one of the worst in football. They tried with Earnest Jones, but it did not work out. Heck, the Titans even traded him midseason to the Los Angeles Rams. Tennessee needs to get some linebacker help desperately, whether it’s in the draft or free agency. If it does not get addressed, then I am really confused about what the Titans are doing.
Wide Receiver

The Titans need a wide receiver. Excluding Pete Rose Betting Association Alumni Calvin Ridley they don’t have another great option. I mean maybe you can throw in Nick Westbrook-Ikhine, but he is a free agent this offseason and might not come back next year. I have also been disappointed with Tyler Boyd, a very underrated player with previous teams.
However, Boyd was mostly invisible and didn’t even score a single touchdown. DeAndre Hopkins was also on the roster, but he and the organization saw the writing on the wall. Hopkins got traded to the Kansas City Chiefs and hopefully, he can finally secure that Super Bowl ring he deserves. The Titans have to surround their next QB with dependable receivers.
Kicker

Yes, a kicker is a tremendous need for Tennessee next year. Nothing against Nick Folk as he is still a very good kicker, however, he is also a free agent this offseason. Folk is also turning 41 in November. While he intends to play next year, it’s clear he isn’t the future kicker of the franchise. The Titans need to get a kicker in the offseason, and it wouldn’t hurt to bring in competition if they bring back Folk.
Those are the five biggest team needs for the Tennessee Titans. My question is do you agree? What other needs do you think are better? Let us know in the comments section and don’t forget to check out the rest of our football content.
