Well, this is a weird match, isn’t it? Four of the biggest names in the sport will face off in a tag team match just weeks before the biggest party of the summer. CM Punk will defend his championship against Cody Rhodes during SummerSlam. This matchup is expected to close this weekend’s SNME event.
Paige and Brie Bella won the tag titles at Wrestlemania, and to be honest, their run has not been a personal favorite. They face Fatal Influence on Saturday, a tag team that has shown strong potential to be high-level heels in the division. A title change would be nice to spark something new at the top of the division.
Bayley will take on Lyra Valkyria in one of the more anticipated matches of the night. The two have been going at it for nearly a month now, since Valkyria turned on Bayley after losing the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships.
Danhausen will continue his “rivalry” with the Judgement Day on Saturday night. This time, he will face JD McDonagh in a no-DQ matchup. Danhausen interfered in Dominik Mysterio’s last match on Monday Night Raw, costing him an opportunity at the Intercontinental Championship.
WWE World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns and New York Knicks champion and star Jalen Brunson are also expected to make appearances on the show. This edition of WWE SNME will be the tune up show for the two-night SummerSlam event coming at the beginning of August.
