This WWE Raw SummerSlam go-home recap occurred in Los Angeles, California. With the Hell in a Cell cage hanging above, what other foreshadowing unfolded from the Intuit Dome?
This WWE Raw SummerSlam go‑home recap opens with a split screen of “The Beast Incarnate” Brock Lesnar and “The Ruler” Oba Femi. The cage was lowered, and for some reason, they needed a weigh-in; quite a pointless waste of television time. Femi was the first to enter the cage and get on the scale. Lesnar and Paul Heyman appeared, then locked the cage and circled it, while cutting a promo. Heyman and The Best Incarnate left, while The Ruler trashed everything, including the work-police officers, inside the cell.
WWE World Tag Team Champions, The Vision (Austin Theory and Bron Breakker), with Maxxine Dupri and Logan Paul, opened against Alpha Academy (Otis and Tazawa). This has been a budding rivalry since Dupri’s heel turn at their expense. The match itself was straightforward and vanilla, with a simple finish. Breakker speared Tazawa to pick up the pinfall victory, before continuing the damage after the bell. After a distraction from his former friend, Otis got a spear of his own, before Theory decimated his skull with a steel chair to end the segment.
“The Young OG” Je’Von Evans vs. Rusev followed, and the size difference was evident early. Evans took some vicious strikes and loud slams, while his opponent always had an answer for his high-flying antics.
Evans took his beating, then it was time for the stereotypical babyface comeback in this WWE Raw SummerSlam go‑home recap. WWE also ruined Rusev’s finisher, having The Young OG muscle escape the submission to win the match.
Danhausen and Joe Hendry were doing a literal song and dance in the ring in the next segment. Three Minihausens and cheerleaders joined for the cringeworthy jingle. Dominik Mysterio and JD McDonagh, joined by professional boxer Ryan Garcia, rushed the ring, taking out everybody between the ropes.
WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio and “All Ego” Ethan Page faced off as well. They appeared extra cautious, with most moves coming across as lackadaisical. Mysterio had a few minutes of high-flying before Page executed his Egoplex, picking up the pinfall victory.
The Usos (Jimmy and Jey Uso) came to the ring to give their SummerSlam opponents a warning, before being interrupted by one of those men, Solo Sikoa. LA Knight, another participant, let them have a few minutes before inserting himself. Once all the words were spoken, the two-on-two brawl began. This was lopsided when “The Samoan Werewolf” Jacob Fatu rushed the ring. The other SummerSlam match participant, Royce Keys, rushed to confront them, but his opponents powdered to end the segment.
Raquel Rodriguez had a shot at Sol Ruca and her WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship. Rodriguez suffered an apparent broken nose; it was swollen, with blood pouring. Ruca was shook or tired, as her opponent clearly aided her opponent’s high-flying move set.
Both WWE Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan and Roxanne Perez came to aid Rodriguez, but were initially countered by Iyo Sky. It seemed Ruca was about to hit her finisher, but Perez grabbed her on the top rope. That’s all that was needed to crown a new WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion. Sky and Morgan will clash at SummerSlam for the world title.
WWE World Heavyweight Champion, “The OTC” Roman Reigns, had a face-to-face segment with his SummerSlam opposition, Seth Rollins. They started the interaction by opening with the other’s catchphrase. Rollins had the first notable dig, giving Reigns credit for popularity, but claiming he’ll never match his wrestling.
Once Rollins included Reigns’ children in the conversation, The OTC attacked. Reigns destroyed his SummerSlam opponent before grabbing a steel chair at ringside. When he rolled back in the ring, he caught a stomp for his troubles, and to end this WWE Raw SummerSlam go‑home recap.
