These WWE Raw results are from this week’s stop at the Scope Arena in Norfolk, Virginia. An eight-man tournament was announced to determine the number-one contender to face WWE World Heavyweight Champion “The OTC” Roman Reigns. The Bloodline feud continues, and the women’s world title picture is coming into focus.
Solo Sikoa kicked off Raw this week on the microphone, mocking The Usos’ entrance, before cutting a promo from the crowd. “Main Event” Jey Uso interrupted Sikoa when he said he was there for family business, asking, “You really want to do this, little brother?”
Sikoa explained Uso had fallen off and that he’d never rejoin The Bloodline. This interaction set up a match between the two later in the evening.
An eight-luchador knockout tournament was announced to determine who would get a title shot against Reigns when Raw stops in Mexico City. First up, Penta vs. Laredo Kid.
Kid impressed early with his athleticism and high-flying move set, even if it was clear from the start that he didn’t stand a chance. He managed to kick out after a Penta Driver, which was also a shocking near-fall. Penta ultimately hit a Mexican Destroyer to secure the pinfall victory and advance in the tournament.
One-half of the WWE World Tag Team Champions, Austin Theory, with Bron Breakker, Logan Paul, and Maxxine Dupri, then faced Akira Tozawa. For those new to the story, Dupri turned heel at the expense of Tozawa and Otis earlier this year, and the fallout continues.
Tozawa had a brief moment to shine, but Theory hit The Off Switch to pick up the pinfall victory. The beating continued post-match, before “The Ruler” Oba Femi interrupted a spear attempt from Breakker.
Femi booted Theory on his way to the ring for Breakker, but they were separated by WWE management and officials. The two have a budding rivalry since “The Beast Incarnate” Brock Lesnar pronounced The Ruler as the future.
“La Primera” Stephanie Vaquer cut an in-ring promo, in which she threatened each member of The Judgement Day individually. When she mentioned targeting Liv Morgan for the WWE Women’s World Championship, “The Man” Becky Lynch had something to say. Among other things, Lynch criticized Morgan for taking women’s wrestling back in time before claiming Vaquer didn’t deserve a title shot.
It felt like the segment was over when Vaquer headed up the entrance ramp, but Morgan had other ideas. She rushed Lynch in the ring, and the brawl was on. The Champ powdered, before La Primera and The Man went face-to-face one last time.
AAA Mega Champion “Dirty” Dominik Mysterio faced off with Dragon Lee, spurred on by a backstage interaction involving Rey Mysterio. It had a fast pace and dangerous high spots, but it lacked a certain physicality. It was also disgustingly poor booking for Dominik, with a champion taking a clean pin. Big Cass attacked Lee after his victory, leaving him lifeless on the mat. “The Young OG” rushed to aid, but met the same fate.
“The Prodigy” Roxanne Perez and WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion Raquel Rodriguez, representing The Judgement Day, vs. Sol Ruca and surprise partner IYO SKY was next. The match actually felt similar to the previous one, with plenty of action, but not much noise. Ruca pinned Perez off of a Sol Snatcher.
If Sikoa lost his match with Uso, he’d have to join The Bloodline; otherwise, they have to leave him alone. The match had a smooth flow and natural back-and-forth before Jim Uso became a distraction, leading to a tense near-fall.
Jim caused a second distraction, which led to Sikoa’s downfall. Jey hit a frog splash for the victory, forcing his opponent to report to The OTC, ending these WWE Raw results.
