The 2025 WWE Royal Rumble is in the books and Jey Uso is heading to Wrestlemania. Some time has passed, and fans have been able to sit with the results. There has been plenty of discourse regarding the winner of the big match, but here’s why Triple H made the right choice.
Jey Uso’s Popularity Is Undeniable
Jey Uso has become a sensation among WWE fans. After spending over a decade in the tag team division, he’s split off from The Bloodline and found individual success. Over the past 18 months, Uso has moved to Raw, become a merchandise bestseller, and won the Intercontinental Championship.
With an electrifying entrance and a catchphrase that appeals to everyone, Jey Uso is the most over babyface in the company. “YEET” shirts are flying off the shelves, along with foam hands and sunglasses. Main Event Jey Uso is undeniable.
Where Have Fans Seen This Before?
Jey Uso becoming an organically over babyface is nothing new to WWE fans. The difference here is that Triple H and WWE are riding the wave. Over the years, superstars like Rusev, Dolph Ziggler, Dean Ambrose, Damien Sandow, and Zack Ryder, have all gotten over organically.
Most of those names were held down by the previous regime. They were never allowed to reach their potential, and some were outright buried for it. Zack Ryder was pushed off the stage in a wheelchair. Rusev was put in a storyline where his wife cheated on him. Getting yourself over in WWE has historically been a bad thing, but not anymore.
Why Not Jey Uso?
The main event scene in WWE is stacked right now. Drew McIntyre, Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns, CM Punk, Cody Rhodes, and John Cena dominate the top of the food chain. Uso might not fit into the traditional main event plans, but he’s forced his way there through fan support.

Some fans might feel like this leaves one of those big names out of a marquee position. They’ve all gotten their moments, some of them have plenty more moments ahead of them. Jey Uso’s moment is right now.
Strike While The Iron’s Hot
Jey Uso has paid his dues in WWE. He’s a 10-time tag team champion and a surefire Hall of Famer. He’s been compared to ‘2008 Jeff Hardy’, and that’s scarily accurate.
Jeff Hardy broke away from a tag team with his brother, Matt. He found singles success winning Midcard championships. He would go on to become the most popular superstar in the late 2000s. Every kid wore his merchandise, and every adult who had watched him for years wanted him to succeed.
Jeff won the WWE Championship at the tail-end of 2008, and it’s still an extremely memorable moment for fans who grew up watching him.
End Of My WWE Rant
WWE made the right call at the Royal Rumble. Fans have seen the “most over act” get passed over, and they’ve ridiculed the company for it. Now Triple H is learning from the old guard’s mistakes. It’s time for Main Event Jey Uso to get his Wrestlemania moment.
