The First episode of a 3 hour WWE Smackdown episode was really fun. I nailed my Tiffany Stratton cash-in prediction, which made me happy. It’s about time that Stratton cashed in, as she did not come off well the last 4 months with these teased cash-ins. There was so much that got revealed in WWE, and the biggest news has been reported by PW Insider, and it involves the 2026 Royal Rumble.
According to a new report from PW Insider, the upcoming 2026 Royal Rumble will make history, as it will be done in Saudi Arabia. It will be the first time the Royal Rumble has taken place outside the United States since 1988. The 1988 edition was the first-ever Royal Rumble that was won by Hacksaw Jim Duggan. This is tremendous news when WWE had plans to do more PPV shows internationally in not only 2025 but 2026 as well.
Is anyone surprised that Saudi Arabia is getting the Royal Rumble? I am more surprised Saudi Arabia didn’t ask for another a few years ago. Remember, the first Saudi Arabia PPV was the Greatest Royal Rumble. That was when the rumble was a 50-man one, and it was won by Braun Strowman. Strowman even got a beautiful Green Belt as a result of that win. It’s a shame that we have never seen that belt ever again as, that belt was really good.

There were even rumors that Saudi Arabia wanted to host WrestleMania in the future as well, and put in a bid to buy WWE when Vince McMahon was selling the company. The fact that there are still fans who are stunned and disappointed by this news just shocks me. It was inevitable that Saudi Arabia would get another big PPV with how much money WWE gets from their deal. By the way, the current agreement with Saudi Arabia expires in 2027, and if there is a big PPV like this, it shouldn’t be a surprise if that contract gets extended.
Now it is reported as well by PWInsider that this will be revealed officially soon. If I were to guess, It’s either going to be revealed in the Raw Netflix premiere show, the next Sweet Saudi Money show, or during the 2025 Royal Rumble PPV. Only time will tell when the official announcement gets told by WWE, but it’s clear that the Royal Rumble will happen in Saudi Arabia.
