The Dallas Cowboys and Dak Prescott are on a terrible downslope offensively. You would think something has to give, but Sunday night in Green Bay was, again, not the night for the Cowboys. They had a poor performance with only 48 rushing yards on 15 attempts, while Prescott was forced to throw the ball 54 times. Opposing defenses have exploited the Dallas passing game for the past two weeks.
Diagnosing Dak Prescott’s Sudden Identity Crisis

On Sunday night, Prescott had a lousy game, throwing for only 258 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions in Packer territory. He has not been at his best despite the Cowboys having a star-studded offense with wideouts George Pickens and CeeDee Lamb. Both receivers accounted for 29 of his 54 passes.
The Cowboys seem out of sync with head coach Brian Schottenheimer—Dallas’s first-quarter drives combined for nine plays and 17 yards. To make matters much worse, Prescott did not complete a pass of 20+ yards until the team’s final garbage-time drive. The Packers played tight, not allowing much running room; they held the Cowboys to only 48 rushing yards, with only eight rushing yards as their longest.
Schottenheimer is also a problem that is not helping Prescott and the Dallas offense. Schottenheimer is not finding a viable alternative for the offense. Despite Cowboys fans showing frustration with the team, Chief Operating Officer Stephen Jones publicly backed his head coach.
Can The Cowboys Turn Their Season Around?

Can the Cowboys turn their season around? They are 2-4 to start the season. Jerry Jones seems to think the team can turn their season around. Last season, it was the defense that was the problem, but now, coming into this season, it’s both sides of the ball. The offense is struggling too. The Cowboys need to find a scheme that can help the trio of Lamb, Pickens, and Prescott. Otherwise, the team and its fans are in for a long season of frustration and losses.
The last time the Cowboys made the playoffs was in 2023, when they lost to the Packers in the divisional round game, 32-48. They were also in the playoffs in the 2021 and 2022 seasons. The last time they won the NFC East division was in 2023, when they went 12-5.
If Schottenheimer cannot help out this desperate Cowboys team, he will find himself in the hot seat in Dallas. He is familiar with the organization, serving as the offensive coordinator for the Cowboys for the 2023-24 season. The next game for Dallas is another primetime game on Monday night against divisional rivals, the Philadelphia Eagles in Philly.
This will be no easy task for Prescott and the Cowboys, with an Eagles defense that only allows 22 points per game. The Cowboys have only scored 14.5 points in the past two weeks.
End Of My Dak Prescott Rant
Dak Prescott has a completion rating of 66.3%, 10 touchdowns, and five interceptions so far this season. It has not been pretty for the quarterback. With Prescott struggling, the offense will suffer from poor decisions by the head coach and a lifeless offense. Cowboys fans can only take so much of this mediocrity; they will look for things to turn around this season while there is still time.
