The Minnesota Vikings have reportedly decided to pass on the services of NFL free-agent quarterback Aaron Rodgers. After rejecting trade offers for quarterback J.J. McCarthy, the Vikings are looking for a veteran to play mentor in the backup role. After a desperate plea to Minnesota, Rodgers has a big choice to make. The top three options are reportedly the New York Giants, Pittsburgh Steelers, and retirement.
The Rodgers NFL Drama Continues
Rodgers has already met with the Giants and Steelers but decided to beg the Minnesota Vikings for a job. It’s safe to assume the Vikings were not interested in such an egomaniac who lacks accountability. Minnesota has shown the ability to get the most out of their quarterbacks, such as Kirk Cousins or Sam Darnold. The team has earned the benefit of the doubt, although McCarthy’s health is still a huge question mark.

So, which team is desperate enough for a quarterback to take on Rodgers? The Giants and Steelers are the front runners, both remain without a QB1 on the depth chart. It’s sad to see such a respected franchise like the Steelers stoop to such desperation, but there is no denying the smoke around that fire. The Giants seem like enough of a mess to take on that drama, but would Rodgers play for a losing organization?
Aaron Rodgers has voiced his desire to play for a serious contender, and with his request to Minnesota, it seems he doesn’t believe in the Giants or Steelers. The Steelers are much closer to contention than the Giants, but quarterback Russell Wilson is still available. Wilson had a better QBR last year than Rodgers had in the previous four, is familiar with the system, and just acquired his former teammate. The Giants need a quarterback and have been known to fumble the bag. With Rodgers having already announced his dissatisfaction with the two remaining teams, it leaves the question of whether they will still accept Rodgers, or will he choose to retire.

End Of My NFL Aaron Rogers Rant
The Steelers have a better, less dramatic option on the market, and the Giants are a complete mess. Knowing Rodger’s ego, he will retire or think he is enough to carry Pittsburgh on a playoff run. No team in the league will win with a declining quarterback that lacks accountability and mobility. The best outcome would be for the Steelers to sign Wilson, the Giants to address the need in the draft (currently holding the third overall pick ), and for Rodgers to retire. There’s no telling what the NFL offseason is going to deliver next.
