Gosh, the New York Giants last season were a disaster. It will go down as one of the worst seasons in that franchise’s history. Brian Daboll and Joe Schoen weren’t fired on NFL Black Monday, but they have a lot of work left to go. In fact, when brainstorming weaknesses, there is a legitimate case to say every position and move on. Here are five tremendous needs the New York Giants have heading into the offseason.

1. Quarterback

Quarterbacks have been a massive issue for this franchise since Eli Manning retired. The Daniel Jones saga went on for way too long and the Giants ended it mid-season by releasing him. Drew Lock was terrible excluding facing a horrendous coached Colts team. While over with the fans, Tommy Devito can’t stay healthy or is too inconsistent on the field. Tim Boyle is a definition of a scrub NFL quarterback. How does he gets jobs in the NFL is my question. Until the Giants can find a franchise QB, this will remain a position of need.

2. The Entire Offensive Line

Gosh, where to even begin with the offensive line? It’s hard to choose which is the biggest, so I am going to cheat and group the entire o-line as a team needs. It’s an absolute Antonio Brown level of Trainwreck. Excluding Andrew Thomas (Who only played six games) the entire line was just terrible. The Giants need to blow the o-line up and rebuild the unit from scratch. I do have to ask though, Why is Evan Neal still on the team? He’s been a complete bust for the Giants who used a 1st round pick on him. I’m surprised he’s lasted this long after calling the fans hamburger flippers.

3. Cornerback

The Giants need cornerback help desperately. I like what I saw from Andru Phillips last season, but he’s more of a slot cornerback. I don’t see him as a shutdown number 1 corner on a defense. The Giants need at least two more cornerbacks in the offseason and they should invest in it in either free agency or the draft. Heck if the Giants can’t get Cam Ward or Shedeur Sanders 3rd overall, Travis Hunter would be such an intriguing pick for them to make.

4. Wide Receiver

Excluding Malik Nabors named me another consistently good wide receiver on this team. Exactly you can’t and don’t you dare argue Wan’Dale Robinson as he is super inconsistent. The Giants need a number two receiver badly and with the current options under contract, they don’t have one. It also doesn’t help that Darius Slayton is a free agent as well. Whoever their QB is, they got to surround him with receivers.

5. Defensive Tackle

I don’t care what anyone says, but when healthy, Dexter Lawrence is the best player on this team, and it’s not even close. When he went down with an elbow injury, it exposed that defensive line. The Giants have to get better depth at defensive tackle, as the defense can’t survive with one good defensive lineman.

Those are the 5 biggest team needs for the New York Giants. My question is do you agree? What other needs do you think are better? Let us know in the comments section and don’t forget to check out the rest of our football content.
