Tottenham already has in mind a replacement for Ange Postecoglou if they were to fire him soon.

Who Are Tottenham Eyeing?

According to The Athletic, Tottenham is targeting Bournemouth’s Andoni Iraola as a top replacement for Postecoglou.

Other teams’ interest in Iraola is probably shared by the club, especially given the quality of the Bournemouth coach.

Since being appointed in 2023, Iraola has proved himself against big competitors. He and Bournemouth are 10 points ahead of Postecoglou’s team.

Postecoglou isn’t helping himself because he lost against Bournemouth once this season, and had a draw in another match.

It’s Time For Postecoglou To Go

The club is already considering letting go of Postecoglou, and this is understandable. So far, the team has lost more than half of its league games this season.

The head coach’s contract still has one year remaining, but it is doubtful that the club might keep him any longer. This is where Iraola comes in.

Tottenham Will Have To Pay

If Spurs want to sign Iraola, they should be ready to pay the $13m release clause in his contract.

Iraola’s contract with Bournemouth still has one year left, and Tottenham isn’t exactly in a position that could make them wait for his contract to end. They won’t mind paying the release clause.

They will, however, face some competition, especially with rumors that Real Madrid might be interested as well.

There Are Other Options

If the club didn’t get to sign Iraola, they already have other options lined up. According to The Athletic, they also think about Fulham’s Marco Silva and Brentford’s Thomas Frank.

Both teams are in a higher position on the Premier League table than Tottenham. Their performances so far have been good, so this explains why they might have them in mind.

Anyone Might Be Better

Even if Tottenham doesn’t manage to sign Iraola, they should let go of Postecoglou. He led them to the 14th position in the league, which is honestly embarrassing for a team like Tottenham.

With such poor performances, it’s good that the club is considering other options. The fans themselves might be breathing a sigh of relief.

End Of My Tottenham Rant

The upcoming matches will decide the club’s next steps. I believe that no matter the team’s future results, Postecoglou should be let go.
