Many fantasy football owners often overlook the importance of having a great kicker. Having one that’s elite can be the difference between a team making a push for a fantasy championship or barely squeaking into the playoffs. After seeing Jacksonville Jaguars kicker Cam Little make a 70-yard field goal in the first week of the preseason, it makes owners wonder who will be the best to select this year. Here is a list of the top three kickers to secure in 2025.
Chris Boswell
Chris Boswell finishing the 2024 season as the league’s highest-scoring fantasy football kicker is an accomplishment that owners need to remember when choosing one in 2025. Scoring a total of 158 fantasy points, averaging 9.3 points per game. Boswell successfully made all 35 attempted extra points and converted 41 of 44 field goals, resulting in a conversion rate of 93.2%.
Known as a kicker with pinpoint accuracy and a strong leg, Boswell was used 15 times last season from 50 yards or more, making 13 with his longest being 57 yards. Missing only two field goals in 2024 from 50 yards or more proves his reliability anywhere on the field, making him a dominant fantasy option.
There may have been some changes within the Pittsburgh Steelers’ offense this offseason, but one certainty remains: Boswell will still come out on 4th down, almost automatically scoring three points.

As the 2025 season approaches, many analysts have undervalued Boswell in their kicker rankings, with CBS ranking him the lowest at 14th. Averaging as the sixth-best fantasy kicker seems too low for a veteran with a proven track record, featuring multiple seasons with conversion rates of 90% or higher.
The Steelers’ nearly brand-new offensive look may be partly to blame, as no one knows how these new pieces will work together. This could pose a problem for a kicker in another organization. For Boswell, as long as Mike Tomlin is leading the charge, he will be set up in a position to score multiple times a game, creating lots of points for fantasy owners.
Chase McLaughlin
After bouncing around the league playing for seven teams in six years, Chase McLaughlin has finally found his home in Tampa Bay. Over the past two seasons with the Buccaneers, McLaughlin has been more than lights out. Successfully making 59 out of 63 field goals for a conversion rate of 93.7%, while also missing only two out of 89 extra points.
McLaughlin, this past season, scored a total of 144 fantasy points for an average of 8.5 points per game. He finished the season as the 4th-best fantasy kicker, proving his value to any fantasy roster.
Having incredible consistency over the past two seasons isn’t the only reason owners should target McLaughlin in 2025. Out of his successful 30 field goals last season, he made eight from over 50 yards, with his longest being 56 yards. Being one of the few in the league who can be utilized efficiently from 50+ yards away puts him in the top tier of kickers to secure in 2025.

Not only did McLaughlin catch fire when he came to the Buccaneers in 2023, but Baker Mayfield and this offensive unit got in their groove and have never looked back. Some owners may be wary about drafting him with how good an offense Tampa Bay has had, possibly limiting his chances.
Even with one of the best offenses in the league, McLaughlin has had over 30 field goal attempts a season and had a career high 54 extra points made in 2024. This high-scoring offense and McLaughlin will only complement one another even more going forward, and he will once again be a dominant option in 2025.
Ranking on average as the fourth-best kicker to take in fantasy this season, owners will need to be one step ahead of the rest of the league to secure this reliable veteran.
Cameron Dicker
The best option for fantasy owners to select as their starting kicker in 2025 is Cameron Dicker from the Los Angeles Chargers. Dicker finished the 2024 season tied with Dallas Cowboys kicker Brandon Aubrey for the second-highest total points scored. Only eight points off from the leader, he scored a total of 150 points for an average of 8.8 per game.
Successfully making 39 field goals and 33 extra points in 2024 not only led to a massive amount of fantasy points. It solidified Dickers’ name in Chargers history for most field goals in one season and most points scored by a kicker in a season. Missing only three field goals, one being from 40-49 yards, and the other two being 50+ yards for a 92.9% conversion rate, he has proven his reliability on the field and for fantasy owners.

Having a conversion rate of 92.9% in 2024 is outstanding on its own; however, when examining Dickers’ entire career, it has actually lowered his overall conversion rate to 93.8%. This isn’t anything for fantasy owners to worry about.
It only shows that the Chargers are expanding Dickers’ range. Having him attempt two more field goals from 50+ yards and three more field goals from 40-49 yards in 2024, compared to 2023. Having his longest field goal in his career in 2024, measuring 59 yards, he now has a strong possibility of breaking that personal record, given the organization’s trust and utilization of him.
Being one of the most accurate kickers in the NFL while also expanding his range on the field makes Dicker a no-brainer to select as any fantasy owner’s starter. With many fantasy football experts ranking him as the second-best kicker in 2025, he will be taken off the board immediately after Aubrey is selected. Don’t be fooled by the Aubrey hype train, select Dicker, who will be the best kicker in fantasy football in 2025.
End Of My Top Three Fantasy Football Kickers Rant
Many owners will be surprised to see Aubrey not on this list of the top three fantasy football kickers to secure this season. This is based on many reasons, but ultimately comes down to the fact that I don’t believe Dallas will be a good football team this year. Having Dak Prescott fresh off a season-ending injury, combined with only one other star offensive player in Ceedee Lamb, doesn’t add up to dominant football.
While offensively the Cowboys seem to be underwhelming, it’s at least better than how their defense will perform if they don’t have Micah Parsons playing in 2025. With no indication of contract negotiations, along with Jerry Jones stating that he will not grant Parsons’ request for a trade, it’s uncertain how this unit will perform. This leads me to exclude Aubrey from my top three fantasy kickers to go after in 2025.

Personally, I believe Dicker will score the most fantasy points for a kicker by the end of the season. With the Chargers having a middle-of-the-road strength of schedule in 2025, it will put the team in tough positions, leading Dicker to nearly the same amount, if not more, production. With more production and the possibility to stretch his leg out to make 60+ yard field goals this year, he is the best option to secure in 2025.
If Dicker gets taken before you have a chance to select him, the next best options are McLaughlin and Boswell. Both being in great situations for a kicker in their own way, they will both be utilized at a high rate and end the season being the second and third-top-scoring kickers in fantasy football.
