In recent years, the fantasy football community has witnessed the power that comes from rostering a top-tier quarterback. With names like Lamar Jackson and Josh Allen emerging as league winners, the question has become whether or not spending an early-round pick is something fantasy managers are willing to do. If anyone doesn’t grab one of the elite options, here are a few quarterback sleepers worth keeping an eye on.
Dak Prescott – Dallas Cowboys (QB13)

Prescott is representative of a late-round sleeper who has top-tier upside. The biggest concern surrounding the quarterback is his inability to stay healthy. In the last five seasons, he’s managed to stay healthy for only one. In that season, he finished as the QB3. He came close again in 2021 when he only missed one game and finished as the QB7.
When fantasy fanatics reflect on the team’s inability to run the ball effectively and the subtle demise of the defense, Prescott emerges as a high-upside late-round quarterback worth taking a shot on. In every season he managed to play 16 games, he finished as a QB1. Just one year removed from his league-winning campaign in 2023, people have seemed to forget the ceiling he brings to the table.
Jordan Love – Green Bay Packers (QB16)

After a stellar QB5 season in 2023, Jordan Love came back to earth. Following his QB17 finish last season, the fantasy community finds itself seeking clarity on what this player truly represents.
Although unpredictable, his surrounding cast is plentiful, talented, and relatively undiscovered. The addition of rookie Matthew Golden only adds to what was already a solid WR room. It feels the past two fantasy football pre-seasons have been filled with debates of which receiver will break out in Green Bay. Names like Jayden Reed, Christian Watson, Dontayvion Wicks, and Romeo Doubs have consistently been thrown around in fantasy breakout conversations.
The simple facts are that the offense should be great, the player appears to be talented, and the wide receiver room may just be the deepest in the league. Fantasy managers shouldn’t be surprised if we see a subtle bounce-back from Jordan Love in 2025.
J.J. McCarthy – Minnesota Vikings (QB19)

The simple fact of the matter is that whoever is the quarterback of the Minnesota Vikings and/or attached to wide receiver Justin Jefferson will more than likely finish as a QB1. The once-abysmal Sam Darnold finished as the QB9 last year, and Kirk Cousins did it three years in a row before getting sidelined with an injury in 2023. A season in which he was on pace to have his best year to date.
The reports coming out of Minnesota’s training camp have been nothing but pleasant surrounding McCarthy. Comments about his leadership, rushing ability, and command of the offense have been spreading like wildfire.
Although it may take a bit of time for McCarthy to get the engine hot, fantasy managers shouldn’t be surprised if the Michigan alum has the Viking offense humming again in 2025.
End Of My Fantasy Sleeper Rant
Taking a top-tier quarterback early on in fantasy drafts is a rewarding but costly experience. If the board doesn’t fall your way, don’t stress. Simply keep an eye out for any of these names later on.
