After a chaotic day two of the 2025 NFL Draft, the Tennessee Titans draft plan is beginning to take shape. Adding two players at significant positions of need, Tennessee moves into day three with a clear plan.
Beginning on day two, with pick 35 as their only pick, Tennessee continued to work the phones and struck a deal with the Seattle Seahawks to send pick 35 for picks 52 and 82. After losing their third-round selection in the L’Jarius Sneed trade last year, the Titans’ front office has been adamant about acquiring top 100 picks, and they do so successfully in this trade with Seattle.
With their newly acquired second-round pick, Tennessee added UCLA edge rusher Oluwafemi Oladejo. A freshly converted inside linebacker turned edge rusher, Oladejo has one of the highest ceilings of any edge rusher in this class.
Possessing a dangerous speed-to-power, club-rip, and swipe, Oladejo has a surprisingly deep pass-rushing arsenal for a player with less than a year as a full-time edge rusher. He also projects as an immediate NFL-level run defender on early downs (partially due to his background as an ILB). Tennessee adds raw, high-ceiling talent to its biggest position of need.
With their newly acquired third-round pick (via Seattle), Tennessee added Penn State safety Kevin Winston Jr. Winston had his 2024 season cut short after suffering a season-ending ACL injury in September.
Before his knee injury and after a strong 2023 season, Winston was discussed as potentially the top safety prospect in the 2025 draft class. Standing at 6-foot-2 and 208 lbs, he fits the bill for a prototypical NFL box safety (a role the Titans have sorely missed since the departure of Kenny Vacarro).
Winston is a top-end athlete at the safety position with impressive range, disciplined eyes in coverage, and a quick trigger in the run game. He projects as an immediate starter in the Titans’ secondary opposite of Amani Hooker,
While the Titans have added three straight quality starters at positions of need, the glaring lack of receiver talent continues to be a black cloud over the roster. Even with the addition of veteran receiver Tyler Lockett, receiver remains the most pressing need for the Titans After adding their new franchise quarterback in Cam Ward. Tennessee must look to give him a new weapon at the top of day three.
The Titans possess two picks in the early 4th round (103 and 120). Some of the best talents still available at receiver include Stanford’s Elic Ayomanor, Colorado State’s Tory Horton, Miami’s Xavier Restrepo, and Utah State’s Jalen Royals. All of these players would project as Tennessee’s immediate wide receiver two behind Calvin Ridley.
Despite receiver being the largest need for the Titans, there remains a significant amount of talent at other positions. The first of these potential options is a double-dip at edge rusher. Both LSU edge rusher Bradyn Swinson and Central Arkansas’ David Walker were mentioned as top 100 players by many draft analysts and remain on the board for Tennessee at 103.
Even after drafting Penn State’s Kevin Winston Jr., Tennessee could also look to add more secondary help. With the departure of Chidobe Awuzie (and the uncertainty of L’Jarius Sneed’s future), boundary corner remains one of the most significant needs for the Titans.
The top boundary corner options still on the board at 103 include Louisville’s Quincy Riley (who the Titans have been heavily connected to), UTSA’s Zah Frazier, Kansas’ Cobee Bryant, and Rutgers’ Robert Longerbeam.
The two final offensive skill positions that could serve as potential surprises at 103 for Tennessee include tight end and running back. After a mid-day two run on tight ends, Texas’ Gunnar Helm remains the only feasible option at the top of the fourth round.
While Tennessee does have the tandem of Tony Pollard and Tyjae Spears in the backfield, the Titans front office has been adamant about adding another running back into the mix. With Pollard not getting any younger and Spears’ medical future being uncertain, Tennessee adding a running back early on day 3 is within reason.
The top running backs still available at 103 include Arizona State’s Cam Skattebo, Miami’s Damien Martinez, Kansas State’s DJ Giddens, and Virginia Tech’s Bhayshul Tuten. With a glaring lack of size and power in the Titans’ running back room, a running back pick somewhere on day three seems inevitable.
As the NFL world rolls into day three of the draft, a shocking amount of talent remains on the board for the Titans at pick 103. Whether they decide to add a receiving weapon for Cam Ward or not, Tennessee absolutely has to find quality starters on day three of the draft in order to rebuild their roster.
