The Pittsburgh Steelers have reached a pivotal point in their season. To reach the playoffs, they will have to keep winning. It’s that simple. They don’t have to reinvent the wheel. In Week 15, the Miami Dolphins are coming to the Steel City on a four-game win streak after starting the season with a record of 2-7. Both teams are desperately looking for a win in this game, but only one can leave with it. As Mike Tomlin would say, it’s two dogs and one bone.
It’s going to be a cold night in Pittsburgh on Monday. That will play into the Steelers’ favor. Tua Tagovailoa got his first win in games under 40 degrees last week. This game will feature temperatures near zero degrees on the rivers in the Steel City. Tagovailoa and the Dolphins aren’t built to play in those conditions. Just play hard-nosed Steelers football, and the rest will take care of itself.
Adam Thielen and Marquez Valdes-Scantling made their first appearance as Steelers in Baltimore, and it’s time to keep rolling them out. Whatever they did, it worked. D.K. Metcalf had his best game of the season. Roman Wilson didn’t play as a result, but don’t fix what isn’t broken. Keep riding with the old men. Clearly, Rodgers trusts them to make plays within the Steelers offense.
A few Steelers legends will be in the house on Monday Night. Ben Roethlisberger, Maurkice Pouncey, and Joey Porter Sr are being inducted into the Steelers Hall of Honor. Don’t ruin the big night by losing to an inferior team. Show some respect to the legends that came before you and open a can of whoop-ass on the Dolphins. A big play from Joey Porter Jr would be a nice touch on his dad’s big night.
The Steelers need this one. Don’t play around with the Dolphins. Pittsburgh won’t have T.J. Watt, but Nick Herbig is ready to step in and get his opportunity. De’Von Achane will pose a threat to the weakened Steelers’ run defense, but Teryl Austin needs to figure out how to minimize his opportunities. Look for a Steelers right end to score a touchdown on Monday night. Arthur Smith was in his bag last week, and he needs to keep it rolling into this game. Handle business. Get out with a win.
The Rodgers-Metcalf connection had its best game last week, and it proved to be a great formula for Pittsburgh. The Steelers will need another great day from the offense to pick up another win. Last week, they only rushed for 34 total yards. That number has to increase. Jaylen Warren and Kenneth Gainwell have become a great one-two punch. It’s time to deploy them on the Dolphins. Score 30 points this week.
Monday’s game will be full of emotions. Jalen Ramsey, Jonnu Smith, and Minkah Fitzpatrick all get to play against their old team for the first time since the trade. They will all be searching for revenge. None of that is important. Just win the game. With his job hanging in the balance, Tomlin must continue to win. As they say, winning fixes everything. Pittsburgh’s playoff hopes depend on it.
