Almost any goalkeeper may never score a goal, but there are a few goalkeepers who have done it. The most prolific goal-scoring goalkeepers are great with set pieces such as free-kicks and penalties. Some even dare to charge upfield and score goals in open play. These are a few of the goalkeepers who had notable scoring records.
Rogério Ceni
Ceni has scored a record number of goals by a goalkeeper. The Brazilian keeper scored 103 goals during his playing career with São Paulo. These were from free kicks and penalty kicks. Ceni remains the only goalkeeper in soccer history to have scored more than 100 goals. In addition, Ceni has also played for the Brazilian national team and was part of the 2002 World Cup-winning squad, but scored no further goals for the Brazilian team.

Paul Robinson
Robinson was not nearly as prolific as Ceni. He scored only two goals, which is still a good total for a goalkeeper. One was a spectacular distance goal scored from a free-kick well within his half. This may have been something like 80 meters from goal, and as the free-kick started to land, it bounced over the Watford keeper into the back of the net. This might have been a fluke clearance, but the goal remains one of the longest-distance goals scored in the Premiership. In addition, Robinson also scored another goal in the League Cup from open play.
Peter Schmeichel
Manchester United’s and Denmark’s keeper Schmeichel was another goal-scoring goalkeeper who scored a few goals at the other end of the field. Schmeichel scored a total of 13 goals during his playing career. Schmeichel sometimes ran up to provide some extra support for corner kicks, as was the case in 1995 when United were playing Rotor Volgograd. In this UEFA Cup game, Schmeical scored a late equalizer from a corner, but Man Utd still went out on the away goal rule.
Other notable goals scored by Schemical included a Premier League goal for Aston Villa against Everton. This was the first time that a goalkeeper had scored in the Premiership. Schmeichel won both the UEFA Champions League and the European Championship with Denmark during his career, alongside numerous other trophies.
José Luis Chilavert
The Paraguayan keeper Chilavert was the most prolific goal-scoring goalkeeper in international soccer. Chilavert scored eight goals in international games, which remains a record number, and played in the 1998 FIFA World Cup when he was included in the World Cup All-Star Squad. In addition, Chilavert scored a total of 62 goals for both club and country. Chilavert scored some great free-kicks during his career, which raised his scoring total, and is also the only goalkeeper to have scored a hat-trick in a game with Velez Sarsfield.
End Of My Most Memorable Goal-Scoring Goalkeepers Rant
Those were four great goal-scoring goalkeepers who scored hundreds of goals for clubs and countries. The goalkeepers Chilavert, Ceni, Robinson, and Schemical scored over one hundred goals between them. They were also great keepers who played many games for their national teams.
