Tanner McKee trade rumors have been running rampant all offseason. The Philadelphia Eagles made a trade for veteran QB Andy Dalton to be the team’s backup, with the expectation that McKee is moved soon. There is no room on the roster unless they carry four quarterbacks after drafting Cole Payton. These three teams make the most sense when it comes to trading for the backup QB.

The Miami Dolphins are heading into the upcoming NFL season with a ton of uncertainty at the QB position. They signed Malik Willis to a 3-year, $67.5 million deal ($45M guaranteed) and have Quinn Ewers as the current backup. The limited experience behind Willis, who himself is yet to prove much, must be concerning in Miami. Adding McKee would let them get another young QB in the door with the chance to play if Willis doesn’t work out.

New York Jets

The New York Jets might make the most sense for McKee. They have been actively looking for a backup QB behind Geno Smith, even reaching out to Russell Wilson before he moved to TV. Adding McKee to this room would give New York a QB for the future once the veteran Smith moves on. It never hurts to throw darts at the board, especially for a team like the Jets. Maybe the Jets trade rumors will be able to move past quarterback and on to the rest of the roster with this addition.

Indianapolis Colts

The Indianapolis Colts face a ton of uncertainty with their backup QB position. Anthony Richardson Sr. has requested a trade, and who knows if he will ever suit up for the Colts again. The Eagles have a relationship with Colts HC Shane Steichen, who could use a QB late in the offseason. Daniel Jones appears to be the answer for Indianapolis, but with only a few good months under his belt, it can’t be ruled out that he comes back to earth. Expect a lot of Colts trade rumors from the QB position to circulate as the season nears.

End Of My Tanner McKee Trade Rumors Rant

McKee is one of the NFL’s premier backup QBs, but his career in Philadelphia is almost certainly winding down. His upcoming free agent status and need for more opportunity make him a major topic in NFL trade rumors. These three teams have a need for someone like McKee and make the most sense to make a trade with Philadelphia.
