Steelers vs. Browns kicks off NFL Week 4 on Thursday Night Football, with Pittsburgh (2-1) heading to Cleveland to face the Browns (2-1) in an AFC North matchup neither side’s record quite does justice to.

Kickoff is set for 8:15 p.m. ET from Huntington Bank Field, airing on Prime Video with Al Michaels, Kirk Herbstreit and Kaylee Hartung on the call.

Both teams escaped Week 3 with three-point wins, getting there in very different ways: Pittsburgh finally found its offense against Cincinnati, while Cleveland needed a late touchdown to beat Carolina.

Cleveland has won nine straight home Thursday night games, four of them against Pittsburgh — and the Steelers have never won a Thursday night game in Cleveland, a streak they’ll try to end on the short week.

Steelers vs Browns Odds

Pittsburgh opened as a 2.5-point road favorite, with the total sitting at 38.5 points — the lowest on the Week 4 board, a signal books expect a defensive, field-position-driven night.

  • Spread: Steelers -2.5, Browns +2.5
  • Moneyline: Steelers -148, Browns +124
  • Total: 38.5 (Over -110 / Under -110)

ESPN’s FPI has Pittsburgh favored by 1.4 points with a 55% win probability, while Dimers’ model gives the Steelers a 59% chance of winning with a projected final score of 21-17.

Steelers vs Browns Injury Report

Steelers vs Browns

Steelers: In the biggest injury-related news of the week, Pittsburgh traded cornerback Joey Porter Jr. to the Dallas Cowboys late Wednesday night for a 2028 second-round pick and a conditional 2027 sixth-rounder, ending a months-long contract and back-injury saga in which Porter hadn’t played a snap all season.

Running back Rico Dowdle (toe) hasn’t practiced since leaving in Week 2 and is out. Cornerback Jalen Ramsey (wrist) was spotted in a sling during the week but hasn’t missed a defensive snap this season and is questionable, as is cornerback Brandin Echols (concussion).

With Porter now gone, Pittsburgh moves forward at cornerback with Jamel Dean and Asante Samuel Jr.

Browns: Center Elgton Jenkins (concussion) is now ruled out after playing every snap against Carolina — left guard Luke Wypler is expected to snap the ball in his place.

Guard Teven Jenkins (back) hasn’t played at all this season and remains out, and wide receiver Tylan Wallace (knee) is also out.

Losing Elgton Jenkins is the injury most likely to have moved the line this week, since it directly affects pass protection for quarterback Deshaun Watson and the push up front for running back Quinshon Judkins.

Steelers vs. Browns Weather

Forecasts have varied slightly through the week, but the general picture for Huntington Bank Field is mild temperatures in the low-to-mid 70s, wind around 8-14 mph, and a real but not overwhelming chance of rain.

Sustained wind under 15 mph rarely moves passing props or totals much on its own, but a wetter ball late in the evening could factor into a game already shaping up as a field-position battle.

Key Matchup: Pittsburgh’s Secondary vs Cleveland’s Passing Game

This is the matchup that could decide the game, especially with Porter now gone from Pittsburgh’s cornerback room.

The Steelers’ secondary allowed Joe Burrow to throw for 282 yards and three touchdowns just last week against Cincinnati, and now has to replace a starting corner on the road, on a short week, against a Browns passing attack that will look to exploit the loss of Pittsburgh’s top cover man.

On the other side, Jaylen Warren produced 176 scrimmage yards in that same Bengals game and is priced at even money for an anytime touchdown — he’s as central to Pittsburgh’s offensive game plan as anyone not named Rodgers.

Steelers vs Browns Prediction

Why Cleveland can cover: The Browns are at home on a short week with a defense that’s performed well over the past two games, Pittsburgh is now down a starting cornerback after trading Porter, and Cleveland’s defense is capable of making this an ugly, low-scoring night that favors the underdog getting points

Why Pittsburgh can cover: Aaron Rodgers just threw for 292 yards and three touchdowns against Cincinnati, giving the Steelers’ offense a different look than it had to start the season, and Jaylen Warren’s 176-scrimmage-yard performance in that same game suggests Pittsburgh’s run game is rounding into form at the right time.

Those two cases are close enough that the spread reflects it. With Pittsburgh now missing a starting cornerback it didn’t have to replace a few days ago, and Cleveland’s strong recent history hosting Pittsburgh on Thursday night, that makes Cleveland +2.5 the pick, with a close, low-scoring game expected and the total more likely to go under 38.5 than over it.
