These WWE SmackDown results are from their most recent stop in Dallas, Texas. The WWE Women’s World Championship and Women’s Tag Team Championship were on the line, along with another spot in the men’s and women’s Elimination Chamber.
Tiffany Stratton’s promo was the opening segment. She earned her spot in the Elimination Chamber last week. Stratton was quickly interrupted by Nia Jax and Lash Legend. After all three of them stumbled through their lines, there was another interruption. This time, it was WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Rhea Ripley and Iyo Sky.
Jax and Legend eventually began their title match against the current tag champs. Sky stole the show before hitting Ripley for a hot tag. The finish was weak – a soft fight on the outside, causing the referee to throw out the match. The chaos they tried to portray did not manifest.
It seemed as if fans were about to get Ilja Dragunov challenging Carmello Hayes for the WWE United States Championship. Instead, Solo Sikoa sent the MFTs to jump the two stars in the ring. Matt Cordona and Apollo Crews arrived, but it took additional aid from “The King of Strong Style” Shinsuke Nakamura to truly even the odds.
A ten-man tag match was the result of the chaos. They did well not to run into each other, but what else could one expect? There’s no wrestling or believable false finishes in a contest with so many guys. The MFTs were interrupted during their victory celebration by the Wyatt Sicks. Their rivalry and fight over the tag titles continues.
There was a spot in the Elimination Chamber match on the line in Alexa Bliss versus Zelina versus WWE Women’s United States Champion Giulia. The champ is a notch above the rest in terms of in-ring talent. Even so, they chose the name-brand recognition for the PLE poster. Bliss picked up the pinfall to advance.
Trick Williams versus Rey Fenix was next. The two had great chemistry, and their styles meshed perfectly. Fenix had some great high spots and false finishes, but Williams was too big and strong.
Jordynne Grace had an opportunity at the Women’s WWE Championship against Jade Cargill. Liv Morgan and Judgement Day interrupted the introductions to take a seat ringside. Both participants had their moments, including great feats of strength, but the finish was anticlimactic. Cargill retained and threatened Morgan on the way out.
There was a spot in the Elimination Chamber on the line for the men as well. The match featured Sami Zayn, Jacob Fatu, and Cody Rhodes. Zayn ran into Drew McIntyre on the way to the match, who genuinely seemed to be cheering for him.
McIntyre’s antics didn’t end there. He laid a path of destruction before placing Zayn’s lifeless body across Rhodes for the pin. To the surprise of the WWE Universe, he managed to kick out.
Zayn tried to do the valiant thing. He delivered a Helluva Kick to McIntyre, but Rhodes took advantage of the distraction to advance to the Elimination Chamber.
The participants in the Elimination Chamber are starting to come into focus. Rhodes joins LA Knight and Randy Orton, while Bliss joins Stratton and Ripley on the women’s side.
