Vanderbilt Makes A Statement
The Vanderbilt Commodores defeated the Tennessee Lady Vols 84-76 in the second round of the tournament in the opening game in Greenville, SC, yesterday. This historic win marked the first time Vanderbilt had beaten Tennessee twice in one season.

Vanderbilt’s big three led the charge, with Mikayla Blakes scoring 24 points, Iyana Moore adding 23 points, and Khamil Pierre contributing 16 points and 15 rebounds. The Commodores dominated the third quarter, outscoring Tennessee 24-15 to take a 63-48 lead into the fourth quarter.
Tennessee made a late push, cutting the deficit to seven points with just under two minutes remaining. However, Vanderbilt held on, with Blakes and Pierre knocking down crucial free throws to seal the win.
With this victory, Vanderbilt advances to the quarterfinals, where they’ll face top-seeded South Carolina today at 12:00 PM ET on ESPN.
Oklahoma Gets First Ever SEC Tournament Win
Oklahoma Sooners dominated the Georgia Bulldogs 70-52 in the tournament’s second round yesterday. Junior center Raegan Beers led the charge with 22 points, eight rebounds, and three blocks, showcasing her impressive skills.

The Sooners’ victory was a testament to their strong team chemistry, with 27 assists on 29 made baskets. Liz Scott added 11 points and eight rebounds, while Zya Vann scored 10 points off the bench.
Georgia struggled to contain Beers’ size and skill in the low post, and the Bulldogs’ shooting woes didn’t help, with a 28% field goal percentage and 4-20 from 3-point range.
This win extends Oklahoma’s winning streak to eight games, setting up a thrilling quarterfinal matchup against No. 12 Kentucky today at 2:30 p.m. ET on ESPN. The Wildcats are the last team to beat the Sooners.

Ole Miss Tops Rival State
Ole Miss secured a thrilling 85-73 win over Mississippi State in the tournament’s second round last night. The Rebels dominated the game, outscoring the Bulldogs in every quarter.
Madison Scott and Kennedy Todd-Williams led the charge with 20 points each, while Sira Thienou added 13 points, and Christeen Iwuala scored 11. The Rebels’ impressive performance earned them a spot in the quarterfinals, where they’ll face No. 2 seed Texas tonight at 6:00 PM ET on the SEC Network.

Mississippi State’s Madina Okot put up a notable performance with 14 points and 10 rebounds, supported by Jerkaila Jordan’s 14 points and Destiney McPhaul’s 11 points. The Bulldogs couldn’t overcome the Rebels’ strong offense despite their efforts.
Higher Seed Gators Pull Out The Upset Over The Tide
Florida pulled off a thrilling 63-61 upset win over Alabama in the second round of the tournament in the late game last night. This victory marks a significant milestone for the Gators, as they’re not currently projected to make the NCAA Tournament.
Freshman Liv McGill put on a show with 29 points on 10-17 shooting, including 3-4 from the three-point line. Sophomore Layla Reynolds added ten points, six rebounds, and three blocks, including the last-second game-sealing block of Alabama star Sarah Ashlee Barker’s (24 points) attempt to send the game to overtime.

The win was hard-fought, with Florida holding off Alabama’s late surge to secure the victory. The Gators’ win sets them up for a quarterfinal matchup against No. 3 LSU today at 8:30 PM ET.
