As the NFL trade deadline approaches, there have been trade rumors about the Philadelphia Eagles potentially moving star running back Saquon Barkley. The Eagles are currently sitting at 2-4 this season and are in the middle of a roster rebuild, as he is rehabbing a hamstring injury. He has not been a factor at all in the Eagles’ offense this season; his impact has been nonexistent due to all the injuries he has sustained in the past six weeks.

Three teams might be interested in going all in on Barkley, but they’d have to pay a pretty penny, and the Eagles would take a $26 million cap charge through 2027. His contract does complicate things, but with the Philadelphia Eagles’ ongoing roster injuries, it would make sense to move him.

Landing Spots For Saquon Barkley

The potential landing spots for Barkley that have been circulating in the NFL rumor mill are the Seattle Seahawks, Minnesota Vikings, and Jacksonville Jaguars. No confirmed offers have yet been reported. These three teams have been confirmed as credible and frequently cited potential destinations for Barkley based on current reporting.

The Jacksonville Jaguars highlighted a strong fit for a featured back that they need to complement Trevor Lawrence and elevate their offense to another level. The Minnesota Vikings also have good reason to add Barkley to their offense because they have rediscovered their run game and could benefit from a dynamic veteran back. With Kyler Murray at quarterback, the Vikings could be an unstoppable force running the ball. Multiple sources have gathered that Minnesota is a strong spot for Barkley to land.

Lastly, Super Bowl champions Seattle Seahawks have been in desperate need of a running back ever since they let Kenneth Walker III go in the off-season to the Kansas City Chiefs. The Seahawks have absolutely no run game and are lacking a running back, especially a veteran running back that is versatile. This speculation has remained the top destination.

The Philadelphia Eagles, along with Barkley, have also added tight end Dallas Goedert and cornerback Riq Woolen to the trade wheel. The Eagles are heavy sellers at the trade deadline. This trade in November would also shake up fantasy football teams across the board. A change of scenery for Barkley would mean potentially more touchdowns, rushing yards, and workload for the veteran back as long as he can remain healthy. Everyone knows if Barkley is healthy and playing at his highest level, he will run all over a defense.

End Of My Barkley Rant

If the Philadelphia Eagles even decide to move Barkley and trade him to another team before the trade deadline, that would make a statement in Philly that they are in control of the roster and the rebuilding. November 10th at 4 pm is the trade deadline for the NFL, just after week nine, making this a midseason pivot point.

It would be up to one of these three teams that are willing to pay and take Barkley this season in the hopes of a playoff push come week nine and the potential of a big contract at the end of the season. It would make sense for the Eagles to move him after 2027 or downright cut him on June 1st of 2028. As always, there are surprises that happen in the NFL, and with GM Howie Roseman’s wild history in Philadelphia, anything is possible.
