Real Madrid have started their search for reinforcements, and it seems like Bournemouth’s Dean Huijsen is one of them.
Clubs are already starting their search for reinforcements, whether in the January window or in the summer. One club that has been mentioned several times in transfer talks is Real Madrid. Carlo Ancelotti is seeking defensive reinforcements, especially amid the several injuries striking his side. One player that the club is targeting is Bournemouth’s rising star Dean Huijsen.
Real Madrid’s interest in Dean Huijsen isn’t that surprising. Since joining Bournemouth last summer, the center-back has given one stellar performance after another. Coming from Juventus in a £16m deal, Huijsen has been essential for his team this season. It’s not an exaggeration when we say that the Dutch-born player has contributed to the Cherries reaching the seventh position in the Premier League table.
Real Madrid might not be the only ones targeting the Cherries’ defender, especially with how well he has been playing so far. He started the last six matches with Bournemouth, and he left a mark every single match. His abilities shined best in Bournemouth’s clean-sheet victories over Manchester United and Tottenham. Huijsen won’t only help Real defensively, but he has offensive abilities too. He scored in these two clean-sheet victories, which is something any team would want from their defensive line.
If Real Madrid secures Huijsen, this could help reinforce their defensive line. With Eder Militao’s long-term injury, Ancelotti’s side needs defensive reinforcements. In addition to being reportedly after Huijsen, the club has also been reported to be after Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Huijsen could be a perfect addition. After all, the club’s scouts have been impressed with his performances and how easily he managed to fit in a strong league such as the Premier League. The Spanish team is surely keeping in mind Huijsen’s Spanish nationality, which is beneficial.
Despite being born in the Netherlands, Huijsen moved to Spain when he was just five years old. He already played for the Under-21 Spanish national team. Huijsen’s experiences so far make him an appealing target for Real Madrid.
Whether or not Huijsen joins Real Madrid, his future is already looking bright. A lot of people are expecting that he isn’t far away from getting a senior call-up to the Spanish national team. If this happened, Real Madrid won’t be the only one wanting the defender’s services.
The question is whether Huijsen is ready to leave Bournemouth so soon. According to The Sun, Huijsen has told some of his friends that he wants to focus on playing for Bournemouth. While this is admirable, Real Madrid is one of the teams almost everyone dreams of playing for. Bournemouth might not accept deals for Huijsen this January, but a summer move isn’t impossible. One thing for certain is that any team that wins the bid for Huijsen would be lucky.
