Reviewing An Electric 2024 WWE Money In The Bank
WWE holds PLEs all year long, and in every show, there will be decisions that fans love or hate. Money in the Bank had some great matches, but where do these outcomes bring us heading into SummerSlam?
Men’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match
This was the match of the night in my opinion. Drew winning was the right call despite what happened later in the night, more on that later though. They could’ve given this to Jey Uso and it would’ve been fun, but I think he’ll play into the Bloodline story in the fall and winter. There were some other options here, but they're in their storylines already. The match was a ton of fun and in the end, Drew was the best choice for this.
Side note: Carmelo Hayes with the Toronto Raptors-inspired gear was awesome.

Bron Breakker vs. Sami Zayn
Intercontinental Championship
Zayn won but I’m conflicted on this. This could’ve been a chance to legitimize Bron Breakker with a quick, dominant win but they didn’t take it. There could be something bigger down the line though. I’m thinking we get a fatal 4 way at SummerSlam with Ilja Dragunov and Sheamus involved. Overall this match wasn’t what I was expecting, and I don’tfeel great about Bron coming up short, but it was very fun regardless. Zayn is a great champion, and whoever does takethe belt off of him will be a bigger star because of that.

John Cena made a surprise appearance during the show. He came out and announced that 2025 would be a retirement tour for him. This is bittersweet because we’ll probably see an amazing run from him next year, but a lot of childhoods will be crushed once he hangs the sneakers up.
Seth "Freakin" Rollins vs. Damian Priest
World Heavyweight Championship
This match was exactly what I hoped it would be. Damian Priest has improved as an in-ring performer and character, and Seth Rollins is one of the best wrestlers on the planet. That’s a recipe for a great showing. The end might have people conflicted. Drew cashed in and CM Punk cost him the match again. I know fans think they wasted the money in the bank briefcase for this, but the concept of money in the bank has struggled to be relevant for a few years now. In this scenario, the briefcase gets to motivate a larger story right away. It feels consequential as opposed to being a prop, and sometimes, the long game is more important. Besides, this main event scene is loaded with talent and it’s only heating up.

Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match
This one felt more obvious than the men’s match. It was great nonetheless. Everyone in this match got a chance to shine and they all killed it. Tiffany Stratton was the clear choice for this though. She’s getting a lot of attention from fans and getting closer to Nia Jax heading into her title match with Bayley at SummerSlam. She’ll have the women’s title sooner rather than later and money in the bank is the perfect path for her to get there.

The Bloodline vs. Kevin Owens, Randy Orton, and Cody Rhodes
6-Man Tag Team
This match should’ve probably swapped places with the world heavyweight title match. It felt a little long but it did the job it set out to. Jacob Fatu has been introduced as a monster, Solo pinned Cody Rhodes setting up a SummerSlam match for them, and The Bloodline looks strong heading toward Roman Reigns’ eventual return. This entire thing seems to be heading for WarGames in November, and that’s exactly how it should be.
