What To Expect From The Eagles In Miami

The Philadelphia Eagles will close the preseason on Saturday Night in Miami against the Dolphins.

The Eagles won last Sunday’s preseason game over the Cleveland Browns. There were a few positives and negatives coming out of the game. The negatives were the penalties and the defense had trouble getting off the field.

The silver lining was that the Birds won, and the starters played well in the joint practices. It is potentially worrisome that the Iggles may not have the depth on the defensive side if there are injuries during the regular season.

The Eagles offense looked very good against the Browns. Quarterback Gardner Minshew was very mobile and accurate while running back Boston Scott moved the ball well on the first drive. Running back Kenneth Gainwell also had a solid game. Receivers Quez Watkins, Devon Allen, and Deon Cain had some big catches in the game.

Eagles At Dolphins

Onto Miami; the two teams had joint practices this week. The starters for both teams get the chance to play one another, but don’t expect any starters to play Saturday Night in South Florida. Just like in Cleveland, expect to see Gardner Minshew starting at quarterback. Hopefully the rookies get a lot of playing time as well. Nakobe Dean and Jordan Davis did not do much against Cleveland, so they have one more chance to get in-game reps before the season.

Reid Sinnett and Carson Strong will get a lot of playing time at quarterback in the game. Receiver Greg Ward has been quiet this preseason, so he has one final chance. As for running backs, Jason Huntley and Kennedy Brooks are fighting for a final roster spot. Nick Sirianni will play as many players as possible since it is the last preseason game and there are only a few undecided roster spots left.

In Conclusion

Nick Sirianni and Howie Roseman’s hands are tied because they have to worry about who to keep and who to cut on the final roster. Everyone wants to stay, but the NFL is a business. I can’t wait to see the Eagles on Saturday night as it means the regular season is almost here.
