Tyler Conklin Could Catch A Fantasy Groove With Rodgers
In Tyler Conklin’s second season with the Jets, he posted a career-high 621 receiving yards and tied his career-high of 61 receptions. In his two seasons with the team, he has finished as a top-16 TE in 15 out of the 33 games he has played. In these two seasons, he put up those numbers while getting the ball thrown to him by a below-average QB in Zach Wilson.
Conklin has been as consistent as they come as far as being targeted; over the last three seasons, Conklin has earned 87 targets exactly in each season.
This year, it will be from future Hall of Famer Aaron Rodgers. Although the Jets did bring in Veteran WR Mike Williams and rookie Malachi Corley, Rodgers should be able to spread the ball enough that Conklin still gets targets. In the 2023 season, Conklin finished as TE 18 without even scoring a single TD.
We should expect that to change in a much more efficient offense. He has also been one of the standout performers so far in the Jets OTAs. In the 2024 season, Conklin should make for a solid backup tight end on your rosters.
Our consensus projections for Conklin in the 2024 season are 52 receptions, 486 yards, and 4 touchdowns.
