This NFL Player Is Not A Hall Of Famer And It's Embarrassing

The NFL Honors showcased the newest members of the Pro Football Hall of Fame. The list included: Dwight Freeney, Devin Hester, Andre Johnson, Julius Peppers, Patrick Willis, Randy Gradishar, and Steve McMichael.

There are many names being thrown out there, but one stands out the most. Leaving Antonio Gates off the list this year feels criminal.

Antonio Gates tallied 955 catches, 11,481 yards, and 116 TDs over the course of his 16 year career, all with the Chargers. Gates was Mr. Consistency, playing with multiple quarterbacks.

Gates is undoubtedly among the best tight ends in NFL history, but this may have more to do with the lack of respect for tight ends.

Historically, tight ends haven't gotten into the hall of fame with ease. Today's game changers like Rob Gronkowski and Travis Kelce clearly haven't boosted the importance of the tight end position quite yet.
