This Guy Should Be The Raiders Next Coach

The Las Vegas Raiders were one of the many teams to make a coaching change this season. After firing head coach Josh McDaniels in the middle of the season, the Raiders made linebackers coach Antonio Pierce the bench boss. Now as they look for their next leader in the locker room, there are many options to choose from. Jim Harbaugh from Michigan is a popular name, as well as Lions' OC Ben Johnson, and Texans' OC Bobby Slowik. But the guy who should be the Raiders head coach in 2024 is the 45-year-old Antonio Pierce and here's why.

Raiders Cannot Make Same Mistake As Before

The Raiders cannot make the same mistake again. When Jon Gruden resigned in 2021, they promoted special teams coach Rich Bisaccia to bench boss and he took the team to the playoffs. Finishing 7-5 under the now Packers' special team coordinator, many thought Bisaccia would get the job. But the team hired McDaniels instead and that was a failure for the organization.

Pierce Is Beloved In The Locker Room

Facing a similar situation, the Raiders have to hire Pierce as the next head coach. Under Pierce, the team defeated the Kansas City Chiefs for the first time in years, finished 8-9 (5-4 under Pierce) and played competitive in almost every game. The defense was the best it had been in years, and the offense found success, even with rookie Aidan O'Connell at the helm.

With rumors that players would demand trades if he is let go, and how much the locker room loves him, Pierce is the fan-favorite by the players and has changed the culture in Las Vegas. He should easily get the job and help the Raiders contend in the years to come.
