This Former New York Athlete is Costing Himself Millions
Last year, the New York Giants traded wide receiver Kadarius Toney to the Kansas City Chiefs for a third-round pick. This initially puzzled fans, as no one knew why they would trade the second-year wideout who has shown massive potential.
Toney showed real promise with New York, capped with an enormous ten-catch, 189-yard performance against the Cowboys during the rookie season.
However, it now seems the Giants might have seen something with Toney that wasn't so apparent prior, character issues. We bring this up now because those issues are showing up now.
Is He Going After New York?
It was revealed on Twitter that Toney had used vulgar language and attacked multiple Giants fans. This included not only insulting women in their messages, telling them to get liposuction, but also sending voice messages to fans claiming Daniel Jones is "blowing him up" about missing him and telling the fan to either "Pull up n---a or shut the f--k up" on a burner account.
After this occurred and was made public, Toney tweeted that he was hacked with a very basic and meaningless apology attached. He also included, "Y'all too worried about me... Tell Saquon to sign the deal". Another clear jab at his former team.
Toney was traded midseason to the Chiefs and was pivotal in their super bowl win, including catching a touchdown.
Multiple sources, including head coach Andy Reid and quarterback Patrick Mahomes, believe he can be special and the team's wide receiver one. But given these consistent outbursts and dumb choices, who knows what the future holds for the former first-round pick?
Josh Gordon was spectacular and led the league in receiving yards, but he couldn't stay off the weed and was never that good again. Toney is incredibly talented, but it could cost him money if he keeps this up.
