The 1-4 Panthers’ continue their Offensive Woes in Week Five Loss

Baker and Co. continues to stink it up as the Panthers lose their second game in a row by double digits

Carolina’s defense ended their streak of having 22 games without allowing a score on the opening drive, after allowing an opening drive touchdown, the Panther’s defense recovered a fumble.

Carolina moved the ball but missed points with a field goal attempt. However, the special teams did redeem themselves with a Robbie Gould, K, blocked kick.

Their offense continues to struggle and hasn’t much improved much from their loss to the Browns in Week One. This could be a horrid season for Carolina despite firing Head Coach Matt Rhule Monday Morning.

Panthers Offensive Woes Continue

Before halftime, Baker Mayfield continued his struggles at quarterback throwing a pick-six to Emanuel Moseley, CB, right on the stroke of half-time stalling any momentum that Carolina had.

Baker has now thrown four interceptions this season. Besides Baker’s mistakes he threw for an additional 215 passing yards, and no touchdowns his QBR through the first five weeks of the season only better than JaMarcus Russell in 2007.

Baker also showed an unpromising impact with a 55.6 percent completion rating, and a season-low 25.5, QBR. Baker has a QB rating of 71.9, following behind Justin Fields, 73.1, QB, the Chicago Bears, and Mitchell Trubrisky, who has been benched in favor of rookie Kenny Pickett.

Keep trucking CMC

The Panthers star RB CMC, continues to shine each week. He’s the Panther’s only hope. Not much has been going right for the offense other than the backfield continuing to wreck defenses with his speed and pass-catching talents.

McCaffrey added another 100-yard scrimmage game under his belt, racking up 54 rushing yards and catching seven of 12 receptions for 50 yards.

Despite CMC’s offensive dominance, the Panthers can’t get out of their offensive slump fest. One positive for Carolina in Week Five was the play of rookie Left Tackle Icky Ekwonu who graded out at 92.2 according to PFF the highest grade for a Tackle in a single week this season.

The Panthers upcoming schedule consists of three consecutive losses?

In Week Six, the Panthers have to play the Rams. The Rams aren’t a bad team despite having a 2-3 record, Cooper Kupp, WR, could give the defense issues, especially if the defense are missing Jaycee Horn, CB, Jeremy Chinn, S, Frankie Luvu, LB & the Former Dallas Cowboy, Xavier Woods, S.

The Panthers face the Tom “12” Brady, QB, Buccaneers in Week Seven. There’s no denying Brady’s greatness, and this Divisional Rivals match-up could potentially be a lopsided one as the Panthers have struggled to overcome Brady since he made the move to Tampa.

In Week Eight, the Panthers face their Divisional Rivals, The Atlanta Falcons. The Falcon’s offense has had explosive moments but this should be a game Carolina targets as a win. This should be a fun game for both teams.

This three-game stretch could either make or break Carolina, but they’ll press their luck in Week Six against the Rams, hoping to improve to 2-4 in interim head coach Steve Wilks first game.
