Predicting The San Francisco 49ers 2024 Record Game-By-Game

We are less than 100 days away from the start of the 2024 NFL season, and one team, in particular, is ready to march back to the Super Bowl and, hopefully, win the trophy this time. That club is, of course, the San Francisco 49ers.

The 'Niners have the 13th most difficult strength of schedule this season, with games against tough opponents like the Jets, Cowboys, Bills, Chiefs, and Dolphins. So, how will the team fare in 2024? Here's a game-by-game prediction.

Week One: Vs. New York Jets (MNF)

Week One: Vs. New York Jets (MNF)

The 49ers start their season with a massive Monday Night Football game against the New York Jets. Quarterback Aaron Rodgers has a 6-3 record against San Francisco, and he'll want to make a good impression in his first game back from injury. I believe the 49ers have the better team and win in a close one.

49ers Record: 1-0

Week Two: At Minnesota Vikings

Week Two: At Minnesota Vikings

Minnesota upset San Francisco in primetime last year. The Niners get some revenge for that loss by defeating the Vikings in their home opener. Kyle Shanahan knows Sam Darnold well, and the defense will make him struggle.

49ers Record: 2-0

Week Three: At Los Angeles Rams

Week Three: At Los Angeles Rams

The first NFC West opponent comes in Week Three, as the 49ers travel to Los Angeles to face the Rams. San Francisco has won three of the last four meetings, but the Rams were victorious in the most recent outing. I expect the Rams to be good, but the Niners are better, and they escape So-Fi Stadium with a win.

49ers Record: 3-0

Week Four: Vs. New England Patriots

Week Four: Vs. New England Patriots

Will it be Jacoby Brissett or Drake Maye starting at quarterback for the Patriots in Week Four? I don't think it matters. The 49ers' defense will make life difficult for whoever's behind center for New England, and the offense will put up some points at home against a lesser opponent.

49ers Record: 4-0

Week Five: Vs. Arizona Cardinals

Week Five: Vs. Arizona Cardinals

Arizona is confident in quarterback Kyler Murray, and they proved that by passing on a rookie quarterback in the NFL Draft earlier this year. Instead, the Cardinals selected star wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. Arizona hasn't beaten San Francisco since November 2021, and they haven't shown me anything that would suggest picking them over the 49ers in this game.

49ers Record: 5-0

Week Six: At Seattle Seahawks (TNF)

Week Six: At Seattle Seahawks (TNF)

The Niners go on the road in Week Six to Seattle as they take on their NFC West rival. San Francisco has won five straight against the Seahawks, dating back to 2022. Seattle is a tough place to play, regardless of how talented your roster is. I believe the Seahawks will put up a good fight, but the 49ers steal a win in the final seconds.

49ers Record: 6-0

Week Seven: Vs. Kansas City Chiefs

Week Seven: Vs. Kansas City Chiefs

The San Francisco 49ers host Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs in a rematch of last season's Super Bowl. The Chiefs will be coming off of a BYE in Week Six, giving them plenty of time to prepare for the 49ers. Mahomes finds Kelce for the game-winning score on the final drive, handing the Niners their first loss of the 2024 season.

49ers Record: 6-1

Week Eight: Vs. Dallas Cowboys (SNF)

Week Eight: Vs. Dallas Cowboys (SNF)

The 49ers have been the Cowboys' worst nightmare lately, eliminating them from the playoffs in back-to-back seasons in '22 and '23. When the two met last year, San Francisco scored 42 points, partly thanks to three George Kittle touchdowns. Although Dallas had a BYE in Week Seven, the Niners have their number and get their seventh win of the year.

49ers Record: 7-1

Week Nine: BYE Week

Week Nine: BYE Week

49ers fans should be pleased heading into their BYE in Week Nine. The team is 7-1, including five wins over NFC opponents. This is the same week San Francisco got rest for the last two seasons. Having time off right in the middle of the season could be beneficial in getting players healthy and ready for a playoff run.

Week 10: At Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Week 10: At Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Tampa Bay had an interesting run last year behind quarterback Baker Mayfield. The squad finished 9-8, winning the NFC South and even won a playoff game against the Philadelphia Eagles. These teams met in Week 11 last season, and San Francisco won 27-14. I expect Mayfield to have a big game as the Bucs upset the 49ers.

49ers Record: 7-2

Week 11: Vs. Seattle Seahawks

Week 11: Vs. Seattle Seahawks

About a month after their first meeting, the 49ers and Seahawks go head-to-head again in Week 11. Coach Shanahan will have the team fired up following a loss to Tampa Bay, and they'll show up big time. San Francisco wins, making it seven straight over their divisional foe.

49ers Record: 8-2

Week 12: At Green Bay Packers

Week 12: At Green Bay Packers

The last time Green Bay and San Francisco faced off was during the Divisional Round playoffs in January. The 49ers scored 10 unanswered points in the fourth quarter to secure the win over the Jordan Love-led Packers. This game will be difficult for the Niners, as they'll travel to Lambeau Field in late November, and weather could play a factor. However, I still like the 49ers to pick up a victory in Week 12.

49ers Record: 9-2

Week 13: At Buffalo Bills (SNF)

Week 13: At Buffalo Bills (SNF)

The Niners will play in Buffalo for the first time since 2016 during Week 13 of the 2024 NFL season, and it's on Sunday Night Football, as it should be. If both teams are healthy, this will be the best game of the week, especially with a fired-up crowd in Buffalo. The crowd noise and potential elements will be too much for the 49ers to overcome as they drop their third game of the campaign.

49ers Record: 9-3

Week 14: Vs. Chicago Bears

Week 14: Vs. Chicago Bears

It's hard to predict how the Chicago Bears will perform in 2024. They've done an excellent job surrounding rookie quarterback Caleb Williams with talent. Players like DJ Moore, Keenan Allen, and D'Andre Swift should make the transition to the NFL a bit easier. The 49ers defense should play well against a rookie QB, and I believe they help secure the win in Week 14.

49ers Record: 10-3

Week 15: Vs. Los Angeles Rams (TNF)

Week 15: Vs. Los Angeles Rams (TNF)

San Francisco won the first game against the Rams back in Week Three, but the Rams have continued to play well following that loss. If the schedule plays out right, this Thursday Night Football matchup could have a massive impact on the NFC West. I have the 49ers winning by a single point thanks to a last-minute field goal by Jake Moody.

49ers Record: 11-3

Week 16: At Miami Dolphins

Week 16: At Miami Dolphins

Every team will be dealing with injuries at this point in the season. Both the Dolphins and 49ers have dealt with injuries to their star players in the past two seasons, so I wouldn't be surprised if there are some stars on the bench in Week 16 this year. The Niners have a slightly better team; that talent helps them to their 12th win of the season.

49ers Record: 12-3

Week 17: Vs. Detroit Lions (MNF)

Week 17: Vs. Detroit Lions

In their final prime-time matchup of the 2024 regular season, the 49ers host the Detroit Lions in a rematch of last season's NFC Championship. Detroit has proven they're a serious contender in the Conference, and this game will be one of the best of the year. Christian McCaffrey could have a big game, and the two-time All-Pro leads the Niners to a massive in-conference win.

49ers Record: 13-3

Week 18: At Arizona Cardinals

Week 18: At Arizona Cardinals

As we approach the final week of the 2024 regular season, the 49ers have secured the top spot in the NFC, followed by the Philadelphia Eagles, Detroit Lions, and Atlanta Falcons. Since they have nothing to play for, Kyle Shanahan opts to rest his star players, allowing them more than enough time to heal any injuries. Arizona gets a win at home to wrap up their season, while the 49ers look towards the playoffs, hoping for a Super Bowl championship.

49ers Final Record: 13-4
