Ohio State Fans Are Wanting The Wrong Alabama Transfer
Alabama's football program has been in shambles since head coach Nick Saban retired last week, and their star freshman, safety Caleb Downs, entered the transfer portal on Wednesday.
Many Ohio State fans have taken to social media to talk about how much they want Downs, and I can't blame them since he is one of the best players in the country, but they should want the player from Alabama who entered the portal a few hours after Downs.
Starting Freshman offensive tackle Kadyn Proctor is now in the portal, and that's who Ohio State should be targeting if they can only land either Downs or Proctor.
Safety is a little of a need for the Buckeyes, with Lathan Ransom returning to school and emerging stars like Sonny Styles and Malik Hartford.
Ohio State's offensive line, which has required attention over the past few seasons, could see a significant improvement with the addition of Proctor. His inclusion would be a game-changer. Having started as a true freshman last season for Alabama, he still has two more years before he can enter the NFL Draft.
Proctor would be a massive upgrade on the offensive line, and he did struggle a little bit last season, but that will happen when you're a true freshman starting games in the SEC.
Proctor is 6'7, 360 pounds, and was the number one tackle in the 2023 recruiting class.
While Ohio State may desire Downs, their need for Proctor is greater. This is where the Buckeyes should be focusing their recruitment efforts.
