Meet The Eagles’ 2022 Practice Squad

The Philadelphia Eagles finalized their 53-man roster on Tuesday before adding a couple more surprises. These additions include safety Chauncey Gardner-Johnson and quarterback Ian Book. The next step for the team was to finalize their practice squad. Most of the names are familiar to Eagles fans that tuned into training camp and the three preseason games. Here is the Eagles’ 2022 practice squad as of September 2, 2022.

Reid Sinnett QB

After an up and down preseason, Reid Sinnett seemed destined for the practice squad. He will be the team’s fourth quarterback after the Eagles signed Ian Book the former Notre Dame and Saints QB. Sinnett knows the Eagles offense as he has been with the team since midway through last year.

La’Mical Perine RB

La’Mical Perine is the latest addition to the Eagles’ practice squad. He played his college football at Florida and was a 2020 fourth-round draft pick by the Jets. He has a career 263 rushing yards and two touchdowns over the past two seasons. Perine had a decent preseason but could not get a roster spot with the Jets. He is a cousin of Samaje Perine who currently is a running back for the Bengals.

Kennedy Brooks RB

Brooks totaled 75 rushing yards over the course of the preseason. The former Oklahoma star does provide the Eagles some depth at running back but did not really do anything special this summer.

Deon Cain WR

Cain has bounced around a few teams’ practice squads. His performance in the second preseason game almost guaranteed him a roster spot before struggling with drops in the final preseason game. Cain has the most NFL experience out of the Eagles’ practice squad receivers, so he would likely get called up first if needed.

Devon Allen WR

Devon Allen is a former track star and Olympian who took a break from football, so it was a longshot he made the team. He impressed enough in preseason to get a practice squad spot. His speed enabled him an impressive 55-yard touchdown pass in the second preseason game. Allen is also a special teams threat as he can get down the field quickly.

Britain Covey WR

Britain Covey went undrafted despite putting up huge numbers as a returner at Utah. He had a decent preseason as a returner ranking 11th in the league with 92 kick return yards but did not do much as a receiver. If he can get a better grasp on the offense, the Eagles might call him up for his returner abilities.

Noah Togiai TE

Togiai is back with the Eagles for a second season. He beat out veteran tight end Richard Rodgers for a practice squad spot. Over the course of the preseason, Togiai recorded eight receptions for 46 yards. He’s currently the fourth tight end on the roster, so he could get called up this year if the Eagles need depth at tight end.

Cameron Tom C

Cameron Tom played decent at center this summer but was overlooked because of the emergence of rookie Cam Jurgens. Tom joined the Eagles in late July and has NFL experience between the Saints and Colts.

Le’Raven Clark T

Clark is back with the Eagles for a second straight year after five seasons with the Colts. He has NFL starting experience with Indianapolis and had multiple Big-12 honors during his college days for Texas Tech. Clark is one of the older and more experienced Eagles’ practice squad members.

Kayode Awosika G

Awosika will make the Eagles a second straight year on the practice squad. The former University at Buffalo star made one start for the Eagles last season. He could get called up if there are injuries on the Eagles offensive line.

Marvin Wilson DT

Marvin Wilson was a Five-Star recruit and had a successful college career for Florida State until injuries plagued him his senior year. He went undrafted in 2021, failed to make the Browns, and then signed with the Eagles’ practice squad. Wilson had a good preseason and provides depth to an already deep defensive line.

Matt Leo DE

Matt Leo came to the Eagles in 2020 as part of the International Player Pathway Program. He was born and raised in Australia before coming to the United States to play football at Iowa State in 2017 as a 26-year-old. He will be a part of the Eagles practice squad for a third straight season.

Christian Elliss LB

Elliss went undrafted in 2021 and bounced between the Vikings, Eagles, and 49ers. He came back to the Eagles and played in their Week 18 loss to the Cowboys.

Mario Goodrich CB

Goodrich had a decent preseason for an undrafted rookie going all the way to the final roster cuts. He was a star corner for Clemson and earned All-ACC honors his senior year. Goodrich could not quite beat out fellow undrafted free agent Josh Jobe but provides the secondary some depth.

Andre Chachere S

Chachere has bounced around the league since signing with Texans as an undrafted free agent in 2018. He arrived to Philadelphia in September 2021 and even appeared in several games last season. The Eagles secondary struggled this preseason, but he at least knows the defense if he is needed.

Anthony Harris S

Anthony Harris was one of the surprise cuts by the Eagles this season. He was a 14-game starter last year and was a full-time starter for the Vikings before he arrived to Philadelphia. The Eagles brought in a lot of competition this summer at the safety spot. The latest addition is Chauncy Gardner-Johnson (from the Saints) who takes over Harris’ spot. If any of the current safeties struggle or get hurt, Harris is the logical pick to go back to the active roster.
