Malachi Corley Can Continue Being The YAC King In Fantasy
The New York Jets drafted Malachi Corley with the 65th overall pick in the third round of the NFL draft. Corley was named the “YAC King” in college for his phenomenal ability to make plays with the ball in his hands. Boy, did he make a lot of plays at Western Kentucky: 259 receptions, 3035 yards (11.7 yards per reception), and 29 touchdowns. He produced each year as a starter and broke out as a 21-year-old.
He lands on a Jets offense that has been begging for a WR2 to pair with Garrett Wilson. They signed Mike Williams as well, but the two fill different roles on the offense. If Aaron Rodgers can stay healthy and play a full season, Corley will have an opportunity to be a useful flex player in PPR.
Like most rookie wide receivers in redraft leagues, it is probably better to watch his usage increase each week and try to grab him on waivers instead of handcuffing a roster spot to start things off. In dynasty leagues, he is worth a mid-second-round pick, but I’ve seen him fall to third in a good amount of drafts, which is a steal.
Our consensus projections for Corley in the 2024 season are 55 receptions, 567 yards, 3 touchdowns through the air, 13 carries for 86 yards, and 2 rushing touchdowns.
