Major League Baseball Players Showed Their Respect To President Donald Trump On Sunday With Some Whacky Celebrations
Last week, the 45th president of the United States, Donald Trump, was almost killed in Pennsylvania at one of his rallies, getting shot in the back of the ear. Before the gunman could get more shots off at the president, he dropped down to the ground. Secret Service jumped on top of him. While Trump was getting up, he had blood all over his ear and face. He put his fist up in the ear and screamed Fight! Fight! Fight! Before getting rushed to the car.
Thankfully, Trump was okay, and we didn't lose an American Icon, but Major League Baseball players took notice of Trump and started doing the Fight celebration this week.
Major League Baseball was on their All-Star break this past week, starting on Monday, and play started up again on Friday, so a lot of players had time to think about what they wanted to do as their celebrations coming out of the break and some of them wanted to pay respect to the former president.
A video came out on Sunday of Tampa Bay Rays player Taylor Walls getting to second base in a game against the New York Yankees, and he raised his hand in the air and said Fight! Fight! Fight like Trump.
Trump is truly one of a kind, and he relates to MLB players very well. Former Yankees closer Mariano Rivera is great friends with Trump and has been by his side for much of his business and political career.
The St. Louis Cardinals also joined in on Sunday's Trump celebration, with the players holding their ears as Trump did right after getting shot.
It's a great thing that Trump was okay, and MLB players can celebrate with him, but sadly, firefighter Corey Comperatore lost his life protecting his family, and two more civilians were also injured in the tragic event.
