Logan Thomas Will Play In Commanders vs Jaguars Opener | Injury Report

With the Washington Commanders hosting the Jacksonville Jaguars Sunday afternoon at FedEx Field there’s plenty to pay attention to, including the injury report.

Washington tight end Logan Thomas was officially listed as questionable on Friday’s final injury report. But according to ESPN’s John Keim, he’ll play Sunday, nine months after tearing the ACL in his left leg.

More on TE Logan Thomas: am told he is ready to go tomorrow. So Expect the three TEs tomorrow to be Thomas, John Bates and Armani Rogers. They’ll want Cole Turner to get another week of practice reps. — John Keim (@john_keim) September 10, 2022

Logan Thomas Will Play

Logan Thomas injured his left knee, tearing the ACL and MCL against the Las Vegas Raiders last December. He opened training camp on the physically unable to perform list (PUP) and was removed from the list on August 22.

Commanders Head Coach Ron Rivera was asked about Logan’s status Wednesday.

“Logan’s looked very good. We’ll continue to monitor it and we’ll see how it goes. But, so far so good.”

During his 22 games with Washington, Logan Thomas has caught 90 passes for 866 yards and nine touchdowns. He missed 11 games as he had issues with his hamstring earlier in the season.

Having Thomas back in the lineup will give new Commanders quarterback Carson Wentz another weapon to add to his arsenal that already includes Terry McLaurin, Curtis Samuel, Jahan Dotson, and Antonio Gibson.

Injury Report

Washington released their final injury report Friday afternoon via their PR account on Twitter. The biggest news that was included in the report was that Kamren Curl will not play after missing practice all week with an injured thumb. An injury Rivera believes won’t keep him out after Week 1.

“I’m pretty optimistic. But again, I’m not the doctor. We’ll have to wait and see, but feel pretty good about how he’s recovering, how he’s healing up. I know he went and saw the doctor. I know things went pretty well, so we’ll see what happens.”

Rookie tight end Cole Turner was the other player listed as questionable. Now that Thomas is cleared the team will likely let Turner sit and go with Thomas, John Bates, and rookie Armani Rodgers.
