Like It Or Not It’s Time For The Golfing World To Make This Decision With LIV

We have made it to the second major of the 2023 golfing calendar the PGA Championship and we have some familiar names at the top of the leaderboard heading into Sunday.

The man leading the way is Brooks Koepka at 6-under and then sitting there in fourth place is Bryson DeChambeau at 3-under. I bring these two names up because they are two members of the LIV Tour.

If you can’t clearly see that these golfers from LIV are still competing at a high level, then you need to get your eyes checked.

The tour itself has nothing to do with these golfers’ abilities. Koepka is one of the best golfers in the world, and when he is on his game, he is the best, and everyone is chasing him. Just because LIV is not as competitive as the PGA tour doesn’t mean these guys can’t compete.

The Official World Golf Rankings do not include any LIV events. If you win an event on the LIV Tour it does nothing to your rankings, and these rankings help you qualify for majors and other events.

There are golfers who are on the PGA Tour that won’t win anything and climb up the rankings when a great golfer on LIV wins an event and drops 30 spots. We will get to a point soon where top golfers in the world who are on LIV will not be able to compete in majors since they won’t be ranked high enough in the OWGR.

It is time for these golfers to be included in the OWGR. It is not fair to them that they might have to miss majors in the future because they choose a tour that people don’t agree with.

It’s time to let it go and just accept that LIV will be around for the future and the quicker you acknowledge them as a real tour the better it will be for the golfing fan.
