KJ Osborn Has A Chance To Assert Him Self On New Team
In the 2023 season, KJ Osborn saw the most playing time in a single season of his entire career. Even with this fact, he only managed to top 50 receiving yards twice last year and brought in only three TDs throughout the season. This offseason, he signed a one-year deal with the Patriots.
The Patriots do not necessarily have a defined WR1 on their team, which could give Osborn a chance to play a greater role in the passing game than last year. He will compete for snaps with JuJu Smith-Schuster, Demario Douglas, Kendrick Bourne, and rookies Ja’Lynn Polk and Javon Baker.
Osborn could see more snaps as the rookies adjust to the NFL, but it would be no surprise that one or both of them will feed into his playtime as the season progresses. There is also the factor that the Patriots had one of the worst offenses in the league last year.
Although the team is unlikely to get any worse, it will still rely on a rookie quarterback to handle the ball for most of the year on a team that lacks much support. Osborn will likely become irrelevant in fantasy at some point this upcoming season and should be avoided in most leagues.
Our consensus projections for Osborn in the 2024 season would be 26 receptions, 262 yards, and 1 touchdown.
