Jelani Woods Can Offer Fantasy Value If Healthy In 2024
Jelani Woods did not play football last year due to injury and seems to be off many people's radars. Woods was a 3rd round pick in the 2022 draft by the Colts and is a gigantic athletic tight end who should be a real threat in the red zone. The Colts used a rotation at tight end last season with Mo Alie-Cox and Kylen Granson leading it.
They will still rotate this year, but Woods should be the starter because of his upside. The Colts need to provide Anthony Richardson with all the weapons he needs in the passing game to help him grow and maximize his potential, and Woods is their best option at tight end.
Woods can't be counted on for fantasy because no one knows what to expect after missing last season, but if he sees targets and playing time, he could be a priority free-agent pick early in the year. At the moment, Woods is not worth a draft pick unless it is a dynasty league, but people should just pay attention to what happens with the Colts' tight ends to see where Woods ends up.
Our consensus projections for Woods in the 2024 season are 26 receptions, 281 yards, and 3 touchdowns.
