Hunter Renfrow Joins NFL Wide Receivers In Getting Paid With Two-Year $32 Million Extension

As first reported by Tom Pelissero & Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, Hunter Renfrow has agreed to terms on a two-year contract extension with the Las Vegas Raiders worth $32 million with $21 million guaranteed. This deal locks him up through the 2024 NFL season.

Renfrow Earned The Bag

The #Raiders deal for Pro Bowl WR Hunter Renfrow — two years for $32M with $21M guaranteed, per me and @TomPelissero — means Las Vegas has now taken care of QB Derek Carr, DE Maxx Crosby and now its dynamic slot. — Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) June 10, 2022

After a fantastic four-year career at Clemson – one in which he won two National Championships – Renfrow was drafted by the Las Vegas Raiders. As a fifth-round selection in the 2019 NFL Draft, he joined a wide receiver class that featured big names like DK Metcalf, Deebo Samuel, AJ Brown, and more.

Renfrow put together some modest numbers through his first two seasons, averaging around 600 yards per season, but broke out in a major way in 2021 securing over 100 catches for 1,038 yards and nine TDs. He was an integral piece to the Raiders 2021 team that eventually beat the Chargers in week 18 for a Wild Card spot in the playoffs.

What makes his breakout even more impressive is all of the adversity he and the Raiders faced in 2021. Despite all of the challenges, including a head coach change, he was able to contribute in a big way. Renfrow has taken strides to become the next big-time slot receiver. With Davante Adams joining him, Waller, Derek Carr, and Josh Jacobs in Vegas, the sky is the limit for their offense. The AFC is loaded, but don’t count out Hunter Renfrow and the Raiders this year.
