Green Bay Packers To Make NFL History This September
The Green Bay Packers football team is one of the most historic franchises in the National Football League. The 13-time champion Packers have a history filled with Hall Of Fame quarterbacks, a devoted fanbase, and a logo that will stand the test of time.
But this season, the team will do something unprecedented in the NFL's history. The Green Bay Packers will play a regular-season football game in Sao Paulo, Brazil, in South America this September.
The Green Bay Packers Will Face Eagles In Brazil This September
The NFL has never hosted a game in South America in its storied history. But the league announced back in December that the Philadelphia Eagles would host a game in Brazil. Between Green Bay and Cleveland, the NFL chose the Packers to face the Eagles as the team has a strong fanbase in Brazil and will draw a good crowd, which will give Green Bay an advantage even though it is considered a road game.
This will be the Packers second ever international game, the first since 2022 when the team hosted the New York Giants in London, England. Since Green Bay was considered as the home team for that contest, they did not play nine games at home as scheduled. This means that Lambeau Field will host nine games in one regular season for the first time since the 17th game was added in 2021.
Packers vs. Eagles Could Be The Game Of The Year
The Green Bay Packers will travel to Sao Paulo, Brazil, to face the Philadelphia Eagles on Friday, September 6th, 2024. The game will be streamed exclusively on Peacock, and the time has yet to be determined.
It will be a battle of two NFC teams with high expectations in 2024. The Eagles finished 12-5 and lost to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the wildcard round after starting the season 10-1. Philadelphia looks to climb back to the Super Bowl for the second time in three seasons.
Meanwhile, the Packers finished 9-8 but were so close to advancing to the NFC Championship Game that they fell to the San Francisco 49ers. With rising star Jordan Love, the team has Super Bowl aspirations in 2024.
