Frederico Valverde – A Real Madrid Asset

Real Madrid, yet to drop a point in all of their outings so far, continue to look indomitable this season. The Spanish side is set to defend their Champions League and Spanish League triumph led by inform duo Karim Benzema and Vinicius Jnr alongside Frederico Valverde who has become undroppable in the Real Madrid team sheet.

The Uruguayan joined the Spanish giants in the summer of 2016 from Penarol and has made 181 appearances across all competitions to date scoring nine goals and 10 assists in that span.

Valverde has continually featured in midfield and on the right side of Madrid’s attack, doing both roles diligently, and was so pivotal in the 21/22 Champions League triumph.

A couple of unsatisfying displays aside, the Los Blancos have continued to impose their authority with late goals or individual brilliance, and one of the catalysts for such a turnaround in their fortunes could be said to be Frederico Valverde.

Valverde has shown his bit of magic this season scoring one of the goals of the season contender against Mallorca, as he carried the ball from his half, and skipped past multiple challenges before slamming the ball into the back of the net much to the delight of the home fans.

In their most recent match against RB Leipzig in the Champions League, Valverde also stole the show in the 80th minute cutting onto his left foot before curling the ball into the net.

Carlo Ancelotti Heaps Praise On Valverde

His introduction into Madrid’s attack appeared to spur the team on and his work rate and decisive moments help turn average displays into great ones. Carlo Ancelotti must surely be delighted with Valverde’s resurgence, and his importance was never better proven.

‘What was strange last year was that he only scored one goal, in the Super Cup I think. ‘If you can’t get a player like that to score at least 10 goals in a season then you should rip up your coaching badge and retire.
Because he has a rock of a foot. Tonight he took the shot with his left foot. I’ve never seen him shoot like that with his left, so it shows he’s confident in his abilities, and he has a lot of abilities.
‘He’s more than just energy. But, to say he’s best in the world in his position, we might have to wait a little longer.’ – Carlo Ancelotti joked in an interview.

Real Madrid are poised to go all out for every accolade within their reach with multiple options in every position within their squad. Valverde is now set to cement to the right side of Madrid’s attack waving off competition from Rodrygo, Marcos Asensio, and Eden Hazard.

He can also slot in the stacked midfield comprising experienced duo Toni Kroos and Luka Modric and the fast-evolving Eduardo Camavinga, Aurelien Tchouameni, and Dani Ceballos.
