After settling most of the lawsuits against him and a final hearing with the NFL on Tuesday, what’s next for former Texans QB Deshaun Watson both on and off the field?
We will soon know the fate of former Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson as his on going disciplinary hearing continues according to a report by Sports Illustrated. And, Aaron Wilson of Pro Football Network reports that the National Football League is pushing towards at least a year suspension.

From Beloved Texans QB To Alleged Criminal
Watson recently settled 20 out of 24 of the sexual assault cases against him, nearly ending a saga that began in March 2021.
The entire ordeal has been such a fall from grace for Watson. He was a star college football player at Clemson from 2014-2016 where he threw for over 10,000 yards, 90 touchdowns, and 814 completions in his college career. These electrifying numbers and Watson’s highly touted leadership ability prompted the Texans to draft him in the first round, 12th overall, in the 2016 NFL draft.
In his career with the Texans, Watson went 28-25 overall as a starter, with 104 touchdowns and over 1,000 completions. He was apart of some memorable moments in Texans history and was expected to remain in the team’s longterm plans as the franchise quarterback. However, things took a turn when Watson demanded a trade at the beginning of 2021, and the Texans were forced to trade him this year in early March for some draft picks. Couple that with the sexual assault allegations Watson ended up facing, the joyous memories of him in Houston seem like a life time ago.
It’s hard to know exactly what will come next for Watson after the hearing on Tuesday. But this has all clearly been an unfortunate situation for him because he was always such a great talent on the field and can still play the game of football at a high level. However, his off the field interactions have cost him not only valuable time on the field but damaged his reputation beyond repair. He will now be forced to face the consequences of his actions and deserves to be adequately punished. The Cleveland Browns now have to deal with Watson and whatever comes with Tuesday’s hearing. They desperately need a plan B just in case a suspension is indeed handed out to Watson.
The only thing we know for certain is that this will not be the end of the news cycle for Deshaun Watson. More information is expected to be revealed in the coming days and it will only get worse for Watson from here.
Oh how the mighty have fallen. It’s a sad day for everyone in the NFL community.
