Former Pro Bowler On The Move, Fits For This Big Name

The Tennessee Titans are starting to look ahead to the 2023 season, and they made their first of many moves by cutting three-time Pro Bowl left tackle Taylor Lewan Wednesday morning.

Lewan announced on his podcast Bussin’ With The Boys that he and the Titans will be going separate ways this upcoming season. Lewan spent nine seasons with the Titans but only played two games last season due to a knee injury.

🚨BREAKING🚨 The Tennessee Titans are releasing the boy, Taylor Lewan After 9 years in the two-tone blue and being a pivotal piece in turning things around in a Tennessee, the great ride has come to an end for the 3x Pro Bowler. — Bussin' With The Boys (@BussinWTB) February 22, 2023

Lewan will turn 32 years old this year, he still has some years ahead of him, but he has only played in 20 games the last three seasons due to two season-ending injuries.

The left tackle position is one of the most important positions on the team, and there will be a handful of teams that are looking to add a guy like Lewan to hold down the spot for a season or two.

Miami Dolphins

The Miami Dolphins could use an upgrade at the right tackle position, and Lewan makes a ton of sense. The Dolphins went out last offseason and improved their left tackle spot by signing Terron Armstead, but they need to fix the right tackle spot.

The Dolphins are a few moves away from being a Super Bowl contender, and the most important thing right now is making sure they protect their quarterback Tua Tagovailoa who has a long list of injury concerns.

Lewan would be a good fit for the Dolphins, and they could fill a need without having to address it on draft night.

Cleveland Browns

The Cleveland Browns could be in on Lewan even, though it’s a huge, long shot. The Browns have left tackle Jedrick Wills, who will be going into his fourth season and waiting to see if his fifth-year option will be picked up this offseason.

Wills’s fifth-year option will most likely be picked up, but if it isn’t, Lewan could be an option. Wills has struggled, and his third season was a disaster. The Browns need someone who can help protect their quarterback Deshaun Watson and can be the blind side on a great offensive line, and not many with the potential of the pro bowler will come up.

I don’t think the Browns will go down this route, but it is something to keep an eye on moving forward.

Kansas City Chiefs

The Kansas City Chiefs could be looking for a new left tackle this offseason with another pro bowler in their starting left tackle Orlando Brown Jr heading toward free agency.

The goal is for the Chiefs to bring back Brown, but if something were to happen and he was not back with the team, Lewan would be a great fit.

Lewan is a perfect guy who could fill right in on a great offensive line. Having Lewan and Travis Kelce on the same team would be amazing because they both have great personalities, and it would be awesome for the sport.

Lewan will be looking to head to a playoff contender with him being on the backside of his career. He will be a great fit for whatever team he ends up on, and if he can stay healthy, he could have another two-three years left.
