Every Quarterback In The 2024 NFL Draft Is A Potential Hall of Fame Inductee

2024 NFL Draft, McCarthy, Caleb, Wayne Gregoire

The 2024 NFL Draft is rapidly approaching, which means every day on social media and via sports webpages, we are being waterboarded with mock drafts and scouting reports. There is no consensus on who should go where, and nobody can agree on who will have the best NFL career. No matter what your scouting report or prediction is, you can expect to be lambasted with laughing face reactions.

The only thing we can agree on is that Caleb Williams will be the first pick in the draft. If it weren't for the NFL age restriction on draft picks, he would have been the top pick in the 2024 draft. He is being touted as the best quarterback prospect since Andrew Luck, but also the biggest bust since Jamarcus Russell. The reality is that nobody knows how good he will be next year or ten years from now.

Caleb Williams, Wayne Gregoire

I don't know. You don't know. NFL General Managers have no clue. Not even Caleb himself knows how good he will be. The same can be said of every other quarterback prospect in this draft. In the song The Gambler, Kenny Rogers sings "Every hand's a winner, and every hand's a loser...". In the 2024 Draft, every quarterback is a bust, and every quarterback is a first-ballot Hall of Fame inductee.

On the most recent episode of The NFL Experts podcast, Denver sports personality Cecil Lammey made the bold claim that there is no Brock Purdy in this draft. The reason this claim is bold is because there wasn't a "Brock Purdy" available in the 2022 NFL Draft either, and yet somehow the San Francisco 49ers ended up with Brock Purdy. If a team were able to accurately predict how good a player would be, he would not have been the last pick in the draft.

If teams could have known that Ryan Leaf was going to be a bust, he would not have been drafted number two overall. This is what makes scouts and writers predicting a player's ceiling and floor hilarious. At the very least, they should not be taken even a little bit seriously.

No matter what you may think of him, Caleb Williams has a career ceiling of G.O.A.T. He could be better than Tom Brady or Patrick Mahomes. I'm not saying he will be, but if you deny the possibility exists, you shouldn't be sharing your football opinion out loud. After all, it is better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt.

Jayden Daniels, Wayne Gregoire

Jayden Daniels seems to be the darling of amateur GM's across every social media platform. When predicting his NFL floor, it's not a matter of opinion. It's a stone-cold, irrefutable fact that his floor is Johnny Manziel. He could absolutely be playing in the UFL, or worse, the CFL in 2026. Not predicting he will, just acknowledging that it is a possibility. Put it at a 10% chance if you want, but it's not a 0% chance by any means.

I'm not a time traveler, and I'm not pretending (so everybody else should stop pretending too) to know how things will play out. 20 years from now we may be calling this the worst quarterback class in the history of the league. We could also be sitting around calling it the best class of quarterbacks of all time, including the best quarterback ever to play in the NFL.
