Devontez Walker Has A Long Road To Fantasy Value
The Baltimore Ravens drafted Devontez Walker with the 113th pick overall in the fourth round of the NFL draft. “Tez” Walker has gone through many crazy things off the field, which have hampered his college career. He missed a total of 8 games over three years. He still had decent production with 104 receptions and 1744 yards (16.8 yards per reception).
He probably could’ve increased his production if he had improved his hands, which he has struggled with in his career. He has the size and speed to be a legitimate threat at the next level, but he needs to improve his route-running and ball-tracking skills.
He lands with an elite quarterback but a less-than-ideal offensive philosophy, with Lamar and the Ravens having plenty of mouths to feed in the pecking order (Mark Andrews, Zay Flowers, Derrick Henry). Walker has a chance to be a bye-week boom-bust option, but other than that, it will be tough to trust him consistently.
Leave him off your draft boards in Redraft and wait until the fourth round of rookie drafts to select him in the dynasty. He could also be a late-round pick in start-ups.
Our consensus projections for Walker in the 2024 season would be 28 receptions, 396 yards, and 3 touchdowns.
