Daniel Bellinger Has Fantasy Competition On A Bad Offense
Daniel Bellinger had a hopeful rookie season, producing 268 yards and two TDs. This was despite him missing five games and being part of a passing offense that was below average. In his second season, the Giants brought in veteran TE Darren Waller, who took the starting job from Bellinger. Waller suffered an injury that kept him out of five games, but Bellinger still failed to produce any notable numbers.
Waller retired this past offseason, which puts Bellinger back on top of the depth chart as of now. However, the Giants drafted Theo Johnson to support the team's TE room. Bellinger will also be going into the 2024 season with more receiving competition from 6th overall pick Malik Nabers.
Bellinger has the potential to beat expectations due to the Giants' lack of solidified targets. Even though the Giants drafted Theo Johnson, he is still a rookie. Still, their offense's poor production will probably hold them both back. Bellinger is someone to avoid in redraft leagues this season unless we hear great reports out of camp leading up to the season.
Our consensus projections for Bellinger in the 2024 season are 28 receptions, 270 yards, and 2 touchdowns.
