Dallas Goedert Has A Decent Fantasy Floor But A Low Ceiling
Dallas Goedert has shown flashes throughout his career of being capable of being a top TE. However, injuries and being the third option in a run-first offense have consistently limited his ceiling. He has never finished higher than TE10 and has missed 10 games over the last four seasons. Last season, Dallas played in 14 games, scoring 59 receptions and 83 targets for 592 yards (10.3 yards per reception) and three touchdowns.
With the addition of Saquan Barkley, it is hard to imagine a significant increase in usage, so Goedert will have to be more efficient with his touches to take a step forward. He did have three top TE4 or better performances in 2023, but that was paired with five weeks where he was TE26 or worse.
If Jalen Hurts can continue to evolve as a passer, there is an opportunity for improved efficiency, but at this stage in Goedert's career, it is tough to envision anything more than a low-end TE1 ceiling for him. Unless an injury happens to Brown or Smith, it is highly unlikely that Goedert would get the volume to be a top-end asset.
Our consensus projections for Goedert in the 2024 season are 58 receptions, 618 yards, and 4 touchdowns.
