The NFL season is almost here and after a busy week of trades, could the Dallas Cowboys acquire an All-Pro safety last minute? The Dallas Cowboys have expectations to be one of the best teams in the league and anything less than a Super Bowl is a disappointment. But despite having a solid safety room, which includes Jayron Kearse and Donovan Wilson, they could look to add another star to their elite defense.
The Arizona Cardinals have already made three trades this week, including trading former first-round linebacker Isaiah Simmons for just a seventh-round pick. This signals that Arizona is in full-tank mode and that they could be having a fire sale. Could the Dallas Cowboys be interested? Cardinals safety Budda Baker has wanted out of Phoenix for a while and Arizona could look to meet his demands.
Budda Baker Could Be The Key To Cowboys Super Bowl
Budda Baker was a second-round pick in the 2017 NFL Draft and already has a decorated career, which includes two first-team All-Pro and a second-team selection as well. He also has five Pro Bowl appearances. In his six-year career, Baker has 7.5 sacks and seven interceptions including a defensive touchdown. He has been one of the best safeties in the NFL and has only missed five games in his career.
The Cowboys could add Baker because he is versatile, elite, and a playmaker. He would be so exciting to watch and playing alongside Trevon Diggs and Stephon Gilmore would give Dallas arguably the best defensive back core in the league. The Buccaneers and Rams won the Super Bowl in the past few years because of their great offensives and elite defenses. Dallas has both!
