The college football season kicks off in only eight more Saturday’s on August 26th. This years Week Zero slate of games includes Notre Dame vs Navy in Dublin, Ireland. Another marquee college football name this year for Week Zero is Southern California (USC). These two games alone should make the small slate of games more interesting than last year.
The Georgia Bulldogs begin this season as the two-time defending champions and the odds on favorites this season as well. Who are the best teams with a chance to knock them off the pedestal and be crowned champs. Does Michigan climb the last few steps to get it done? How about Nick Saban and Alabama? Can’t count him out. Or does Lincoln Riley and USC crash the party this year with the returning 2022 Heisman winner QB Caleb Williams returning?
Brian Kelly has LSU and James Franklin has Penn State poised to make some noise this season. Both could surprise and challenge for the SEC and Big 10 crown. And let’s not forget about Ryan Day and the Ohio State Buckeyes, he has the best receiving corp in the land returning with star Marvin Harrison Jr back to show off his elite skill set. For a sleeper team, it could be the Washington Huskies and quarterback Michael Penix Jr, after leading the PAC-12 in yards last season and nearly 40 points per game.
