CJ Stroud Is The NFL MVP

The NFL MVP will be handed out to Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson. He is an excellent quarterback, and there is no problem with handing him the award. However, Texans rookie quarterback CJ Stroud, who has faced many challenging circumstances, should be the NFL MVP.

The Texans have been languishing as one of the worst teams in the NFL over the past couple of seasons. Their poor performance was so pronounced that they had the number two pick in last year's draft, which they used to bring in Ohio State quarterback CJ Stroud.

Stroud took over a franchise that went 3-13-1 in 2022, and many had the Texans as one of the worst teams in the NFL once again, but Stroud changed that narrative quickly.

The Texans dropped the first two games of the season against the Ravens and Colts, but after that, they started to take the league by storm.

Stroud started to become a household name, and in 15 games this season, he threw for 4,108 yards, 23 touchdowns, and five interceptions and won the AFC South with a 10-7 record.

Stroud did overcome one of the worst teams in football and a rookie head coach in DeMeco Ryans. Usually, a rookie quarterback/rookie head coach combo doesn't win the division in their first season after taking over a team that won three games the year before, but these two managed to find a way to destroy that narrative.

In a season where the quarterback position seemed to be down and defenses started to take over, quarterbacks weren't that impressive this season, and Lamar Jackson was the most impressive one. That is why he will win the MVP, but Jackson is on the best team in football, has great players around him, is a Super Bowl-winning head coach, and has the best defense in football, so, of course, Jackson will do great things.

Stroud was more valuable to his team in 2023 than Jackson was, and it's just the truth. Take Stroud off the Texans, and they win three games again.

Sometimes you have to take the stats out of the picture and look at the human side of things and see that Stroud took a horrible football team to a division winner in year one with a rookie head coach, and in only 15 starts, and if that doesn't scream most valuable then I don't know what does.
